That's insane. But, dealer's are going to make a quick buck if they can. We all talked about dealer mark up after the new stangs started to come out. At first, the only people who knew about them were the diehards like us and had already ordered. But now, everyone sees Mustangs on the road (our Mustangs) and the ones on tv commercials and shows and they all want one. And they are still in short supply, but now higher demand. The best thing for someone who wants one now is to wait it out.

FordDirect , using different zip codes and States to broaden the search parameters.

The one I posted about that was nearly $34,000. was a convertible. There was no dealer markup. This was actually sticker price. I didn't think it was bad but I prefer the hardtop, so I personally wouldn't pay the $5,000. difference for a vert.

Check zip 28213. Town and Country has a legend lime GT, and a grey GT convertible listed. Hilbish also has a grey GT listed.

Hope this helps. BTW, the zip is Charlotte, NC.

Hey Byron,

I live in the DC area and was able to find my Silver GT by sending out quote requests on www.cars.com. Yeah, sound kinda dumb, but it worked. And within minutes, no less. This was on Jan. 3rd and no one at the time had any GT's in the inventory. However many cars "slip under the radar" as I was lucky to find out.

I sent out online requests to about 30 dealers in the MD/DC/VA/PA area and I was immediately flooded with calls and e-mails from every direction. The first guy who called had a Silver GT. I offered MSRP for it. He called back in 10 minutes and we had a deal. 2 1/2 months later you might do better with the price. I had no problem with paying MSRP at the time. I still get e-mails from dealer trying to sell me cars that DO NOT show up on their online inventories.

I hope this is helpful to you. I was in the same boat - frustrated with attempts to order. I love this car and I think everyone who wants one should have one.

Let me know if I can help in any other way. 'Stang guys have to stick together!

Adam

I have had mine on order (X-Plan) since 12/18 with no end in sight. I have searched every dealer in the DC mtro area, New Orleans/Gulf Coast area, and I even called a dealer in North Carolina this morning about one they had but was now gone. I sold my 93 back in December to get this car but am now getting a little disgruntled with Ford because of the way they have handled this whole thing. I even thought about buying a GTO until I saw that it had a gas guzzker tax on it. Ford has done a great job of designing an awesome car but I think they are a complete failure on the "go to market" with it and I have actually become less of a fan in owning one because of it. Another corporation hold the loyal consumer market hostage. As much as I hate to admit this, I don't blame the dealerships for any of this. I think this falls squarely on Ford.

yellow05gt if your still interested in a Silver GT PM me or e-mail me and I'll send you info on the GT and dealer in sth Jersey. If your in DC your about an 1hr 1/2 from the car.

Let me know
-John

They Just got this GT in.

Sorry haven't read every post in the thread so don't know who is still looking, where they are located, or what exactly they are looking for. Just thought I would mention that there are at least 3 dealers in CA that always seem to have multiple GT's in stock (so far none that match exactly what I want, but one close one that I may call about soon). Anyway here are their names: Galpin Ford, Mossy Ford, and Claremont Ford. I have no idea what kind of pricing these dealers are doing, but hope this helps someone out there find a car if they are having problems waiting for their order .

Try checking up here in Alexandria.. I've seen a WVB GT and a Redfire on the road. Try either Marler or Hixson Hopkins.

Looks like you have some good leads now yeller05. Any luck yet?
Was at Capital Ford in Raleigh Thursday for service and as mentioned elsewhere in this topic they do indeed have at least 5 GTs[2 with IUP&ICAP, looks great], 1 GT convertible and 3 V6 convertibles. Man it was great to see so many GTs on the same lot. The convertible looks fantastic in person. Only one downside. They are demanding a $3,000 "up-charge" on GTs and all convertibles. Robbery man! I'm waiting!
