I adore my life, really. Never a dull moment.

See my info over here <---- Notice I drive an Oldsmobile Alero Manufactured by Great Mistakes. As you may or may not know- General Maintenance has GIANT issues with their 3.4 v6 motors getting eaten by their death cool invented by Texaco. Last year I spent a small fortune rectifying the mistake, BEFORE I knew it was a GM problem and not just me driving it like Earnhardt. So of course I INSISTED my mechanic put the death cool back in because it "says right there" Death cool only- no need to do a THING for 150K miles. Well, Come a few months later and my coolant resovoir and radiator hoses get eaten. Same time I have found out about the great death cool issue. So I start sticking in the Prestone yellow stuff. Meanwhile, car is acting a fool- running 1/4 below hot anytime I drive it more than ten miles. Making me pee myself, and stay home a lot. Soooo I rectify it at the mechanic. Whew! Everything Ok right, cool till Eleanor can come home next year. WRONG! For the past few weeks, I have been smelling the vomity scent of coolant in it. My husband took my car to Anniston today, which is about 70 miles out. He calls me, says your car smells like coolant.
Well, I AM NOT GONNA DO IT ANYMORE~ I have spent my last down payment(yes, my last two mustang down payments went into the STUPID OLDS!) on this car.
The Bronco is brand new AGAIN, but we need a new truck. Car is a broke POS.
WHAT do we do? I need a mustang - this week! BUT the 05 has no incentives on it. The 04 they are giving away.
Do I sell the bronco for 3,500 and dump it into an 05? Take my car and trade it on a 04 f150 with 3k clearance cash?
Do I fix the blasted thing again, and dump my ETA back ANOTHER few months?
Do I Sell the bronco and buy the f150, and lose my hiney on trading the olds on a mustang?
I don't know whether to pee or go blind- Need advice!!

Well ... you aren't getting an 05 this week, so I think that makes up your mind for you.

There's no margin in putting yet more money into the Alero. God knows what other problems are waiting in the wings behind the coolant issue.

I would not presume to advise these issues, but I know what I would do. Putting more money in the Alero would not be on the list of things I would do.

As for the '04 vs '05 question - you know better than we do what economic pressures you face. The '04 would STILL be fun, even if it isn't an '05. If you can make a plan to get right side up on an '04 purchase as quickly as possible, you could trade for an '06, perhaps!

Dealers certainly hace '04 demo units with a few thousand miles on the clock. Bend 'em over on one of those, and you can skip a lot of the "drive off the lot" depreciation. If you consider the '04 option at the time when the '05's are just hitting the lot, I bet you can make your deal YOUR way. You'd be greeted like a savior for moving an'04 out of inventory.

Just a thought.

Oh yeah - I ALWAYS choose peeing ahead of going blind.

Trade the Olds in towards a 05 stang - let it be someone else's problem, keep the bronco... As long as you're not upside down on your Olds loan, that is...

Wow! I do feel sorry for you in this situation. You mentioned "needing" a truck and "wanting" a mustang. I'd probably take advantage of the give-a-way 04's on the truck. The F150's are the best looking trucks I have ever seen! I wish you the best, but go with what you know is "best" for you and your family.

IF and only if I could locate a 2004 Competition orange or black with a dark charcoal and manual- COOl. Bottom line, the 05 I want, but there are NO incentives on it, and I can get right side up on an 04 and trade it on an 06. PLUS orange may make its way in by then. I have feelers out right now for just that.
I can NOT trade an alero on it though- I would lose my shirt. I can trade it on a truck though, because the clearance cash on them right now is nuts.
I have a supercool 1986 Bronco for sale! Comes with a life size skeleton in back, Skeleton seats and Brand new everything! Takers?

1. Pee to avoid blindness.

2. Wash hands.

3. Sell Bronco - use cash for the 05, trade Olds on 04 F-150.

4. Smile as you pass other broken down Alero's on road.

5. NEVER buy another GM product. :notnice:

Sounds like a good plan and one which will make you happier in the long run than buying an 04 Mustang. Just my .02.

Do you need two vehicles? If not then i would do this...

Trade the car from hel* on the 04 F150,then i would also sell the bronco but privately (get better price) to help with the 04 payments. Now with the new truck not needing any of those repairs the hel* car needed,i would take the money you might of had to pay to keep that bugger running, and place it into a mustang 05 seperate bank account.(and or bank gic's if you have enough) Now when all your other finances seem in order and the 05 bank account is large enough to make the 05 down payment and wont stress any other economic issues you might have,it will be time for the 05...Best of luck :-)

I can NOT live with one car. Its just I Cant be stranded all day, drives me insane. PLUS I have things to do during the week. The Bronco is brand new again, so its good for about another six months. Gives a little breathing room to figure it out.

The Mustang is DEFINITELY coming home but its still not the ripe time. Spring..

There are alleged 04 verts for 14,990 here. Hubby wants one- better than a truck, and I get use till mine comes home. Olds gotta go, we hate her.

Where in there is the lure you to the dealer part just to get shafted?
