So with all the reviews and praise from owners (including myself), how is the Mustang doing? Is it the turnaround car for Ford that everyone was saying? What about the SEMA show? I know Ford sponsored it, but how did the tuner crowd receive the car? What about the drifting crowd?
Are there any sales figures out? I love the new 500, and I think it fits a really nice market. Are these new cars (freestyle too) going to put Ford at the top?

I doubt it, Ford had a lot of catching up to do. With GM having so many different lines its hard to catch up.
From Fortune magazine...
Each entry includes rank, name of company, headquarters, last year's rank and 2003 revenue in billions of dollars
1. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Bentonville, Ark., 1, $258.681
2. Exxon Mobil Corp., Irving, Texas, 3, $213.199
3. General Motors Corp., Detroit, 2, $195.645
4. Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., 4, $164.496
5. General Electric Co., Fairfield, Conn., 5, $134.187

Forbes article on 05 Mustang GT
This should be a pretty good estimate, on how well the Mustang and Ford in general is doing

and enthusiasts who recognize the bargain but might feel like the car is a poor substitute compared to the pricier 400-hp Chevrolet Corvette, which was also overhauled for model year 2005.

you know what I love, is when everyone comes up to me wherever I'm at, and ask me how much I've paid for my 05. So far, I've had two people ask me if I paid over 40k for it  . I had to explain to them the different models of mustangs, and that you might pay that much for a cobra, if you're not good at negotiating, but a baseline GT stays under 30k. I think I made Ford a few new sales in the end. B)

agreed on the style of the v6 stang for around 21k....i spoke with a number of people at the Autorama in Houston this past weekend who were shocked you could pick up a 5 speed GT nicley outfitted for around 27k....they'll sell a TON of these in the next 6 months.....
