how to measure a pulley?

hey guys just wanted to know what is the correct way to measure a pulley on a procharger? i am measuring approximately a 3.4" from edge to edge on the outer edge of the pulley. does that mean i actually have a 3" pulley or something?

I had a similar issue when I went to order my 12 lb pulley for my ProCharger.
It is not measured from the outer lip of the pulley.
It has to be measured from where the grooves are using a mic.

yes for a flat belt it should be measured from the surface the belt rides on.
