How many drive with gloves?

One thing that I had thought about doing for awhile was getting pair of driving gloves. Just to prolong the life of the steering wheel, in addition to regular leather treatment, and I think it could be kind of snazzy A good friend of mine has an uncle with a 300ZX, the body style before the 350 Z, and he always drove it with a glove. It was not his daily driver, and he never drove it in the rain, which is what I plan on doing once I get my car back from the shop. There is a nice new car cover in the garage waiting for her when she gets back But I was curious if there were many out there that have a pair they keep in the car when they go driving? Or if this was a thing of the past?

I only drive without gloves in the summer, no matter which vehicle I use ( own 3 plus the wife's). I prefer it. It gives me better grip. I started doing it because my hands get cold easily (medical problems), but I really like them.
I use fingerless gloves except in winter (it gets below zero F here).

Gloves would be pretty sweet If I had a car that would merit wearing drving gloves, I would go for it.

I put one of those better quality steering wheel covers on mine from day one to keep the leather from wearing out. Makes the wheel thicker and those little rubber nibs on it provide a nice massage to the old hands. hehe

I wear driving gloves most times during the summer. Of course here in central Arid-zona the steering wheel tends to get rather warm!

No gloves for me......... If I wear out the steering wheel (if ever), then i'll just buy a new steering wheel.

If I wore driving gloves, I would be mocked unabashedly for it by my family and friends for the rest of my life. And deservedly so, IMO.

Yeah - that's right. Winter weather is a whole other story.

But ignoring winter - for the guys who wear them - are they elbow high or simply black velvet ?

Ouch.

Its funny when I think driving gloves or whatever. At the track..sure.
but on the street for some reason... a skid blaring "I Wanna Rock" driving a white IROC looking over and headbanging his "kentucky waterfall" yelling "WHOOOOOOOOO" while revving his engine.

Why..I don't know
