how long for oil change...??

ok, i had an oil change in my 2006 last oct 2010
i have only driven the car maybe 1,000 miles since then.
my question is weather to get an oil change now or can it wait till the spring. i do not drive the car during the winter months and i put it up on jacks.
will it hurt to keep it in another 4-6 months? since only driving about 1k?

thoughts?

I personally see no sense in changing it until spring.

Other than the degrading of the oil I wouldn't worry. I say wait till spring. But change it before you start it

Most car collectors and places like Hagerty will tell you if the miles are not a factor you should change just before you put the car in storage. Reason being all the contamiants that are in the oil and mosture do not sit in the engine over the winter. Myself I run Amsoil signure series in my truck and change the oil just before winter with fresh oil and Stabil in the gas tank to stay fresh.

Hi SINBUSTER007,

I looked in your Scheduled Maintenance Guide on page 46 under the Maximum Oil Change Interval for Normal Driving states your oil should be changed every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever occurs first. You can see your Maintenance Guide at www.Owner.Ford.com under the vehicle basics section. Hope this helps.

I change mine every fall and the car is only driven ~2K per year ('07 with 9.5K).
