This October, my 2008 Mustang will be 3 years old. It still seems to be blowing good cold air. Just wondering how long you folks have gone before you have had to recharge your freon/air conditioner. If ever!

This is not something you ever have to worry about.
There is NO freon in your A/C system.
The R134 in your system should not be something you worry about for many years.
If you get a system puncture or a seal lets go, that is when you will have a problem.

it never gets used up. Its a sealed system. You should never have to recharge the system ..If you do, you have a leak. I always laugh if your buying a used car and the sales guy states the ac system works great, it just need a little charge! Well that means its NOT fine and it has a leak meaning a repair!!u

I think the fed passed a law forcing auto makers to no longer use freon

Not just "these cars", all cars are the same. If an A/C system needs recharging it is because there is a leak i.e. a mechanical problem.

If you do need some, they sell R134a in pressurized bottles at Auto Zone, etc.
