I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome to the forums.

I just picked up my 07 CS tonight and was wondering, how some of you guys with mustangs as daily drivers are coming along. How do these fair as the mileage starts to get high. I would assume that proper care and maintenance makes life easier, but what type of wear and tare problems are people having with their higher mileage Mustangs?

 

I've almost, not quite, got 30k on Awesome. 20K of that isn't mine. But she's holding up quite excellently, you ask me, but I feel that has to do with proper maintenance, along with the occasional burying the foot into the accelrator and keeping it there as you power shift a couple times... She seems to really like doing that...

I'm sure you're looking for higher mileage than that... but so far, nothing has come up *knocks wood*. She's really been quite the gal, even getting better MPG than her V6 predecessor.

/just did the 30K, and figured I'd do the fuel filter and rear diff. Just in case. Probably early, but hey, whatever baby wants, she'll get.

 

I got mine the day before Thanksgiving 04 and just went over 50K on it , and she still runs, looks and sounds great ...

 

My car is 4 years old and still running strong. Just hit 75,000km. Guess it is time to put her away for the season.

 

72k miles on mine and still going strong. Still have original brakes although they need to be changed soon. Clutch is still good although it doesn't engage as firm as it used to, It's harder to chirp the tires now shifting.

 

32,000 miles after 20 months (daily driver, 40+ miles per day) and everything seems to be in good working order. However, as the weather turns colder the interior develops an irritating creak that seems to emanate from the front passenger side, near the A-pillar, I think. Anyway, this mystery noise has been well-documented by dozens of other Mustang owners on this site, with several different explanations and solutions. That minor nit aside, I've been really impressed with the overall durability and quality construction of the car, especially considering the inexpensive interior materials. Fit & finish has never been a Mustang hallmark, but mine was screwed together nice and tight.

 

38k miles and not one problem.

 

These cars last a long time... just need regular maintenance. I like to replace the engine every 15K to 20K miles.

 

I only have 21k on my 07 and no problems what so ever. Takes all the abuse I can give. I do recommend that you pull out your spark plugs every once in a while to clean them, apply antiseeze and reinstall at proper torque specs. I personally have done mine twice already. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Only takes about 30 min and can save you big time in the future.

If you aren't aware these 05-07 3V 4.6's have an odd 2 peice spark plug design that are notorious for breaking off in the head if not properly cared for. There is a lot of info on here if you are more interested.

3+ years old here, 55k miles, no problems with the exception of my convertible top appears to be separating at the glass/vinyl seam. That one is going to suck to have to repair.

Engine/tranny/brakes are all original and strong. All of my mods are now pushing 2+ years old and still going strong (with the exception of my burned but still functional Saleen HID headlights).

This generation is the best Stang I have ever owned (this one is my 6th) bar none.
