Basically just starting a new topic for something new to talk about. I know the 05 includes things now like detection if the car is tilted (hmmm like a pinball machine?). But how good is the regular old alarm? I guess I'm asking ... is the 04 system good?

regular old alarm? hmm when was the last time you even looked to see what was going on when a car alarm went off? no one even pays attention to alarms anymore.

That's why you get a 2-way transmitter and go beat the LIFE out of the person messing with your car.

Yah, in the short term you're thankful that you got insurance money for it, but insurance companies aren't in the business of losing money....they'll get it back, or most of it.

Too bad there are too many accidents that could happen if you just electrified the whole car!

it's been my experience if your car ever does get stolen you pray that it never gets found because it will be trashed and never the same again no matter if insurance "fixes" it. Mine had a bent frame and 4 trashed tires after it was "fixed."

It's impossible to electrify the whole car, yes, but electrified door handles where when the finger touches two wires on the underside and becomes the conductor between them... ZAP!!

Yeah. I would love to see that one. Too bad they would probably just bash in the window and reach around to the inside. Would would be really great is if both outer and inner handles were rigged like that.

Does anyone else remember way back when Crutchfield offered a tear gas option that you could add to a car alarm? I think it was supposed to be hooked up to a Clifford alarm, the one with the keypad. Get in, key in the right code in the right amount of time, or whooosssshhhh.

I wanna get something that if you dont punch in a code, it sets off an EMP wave. That'd be the best car saftey feature ever made. Or if they could installd plexyglass instead of glass that shatters of the smallest rock hits it.

Also, you could put a snake in your car, that could work...

OR! If a certain code isn't punched, pepper spray comes squirting everywhere, then the car beeps really loud and the radio blares soemthing. That person would be very disoriented!

But I do like the tear gas idea, that sounds fun. Only if the windows won't roll down, can't be broken, and the doors were locked

It would be very cool to have some kind of active countermeasure. But I worked at a bar and a girl's pepperspray went off (She had one nearly the size of a car fire extinguisher). The place was uninhabitable for about 8 hours. I would like something like polycarbonate windows. And when someone unauthorized got in your car. It would lock the doors and disable the electronics. So you couldn't get out. Then call the police.

I was thinking, only bad thing would be is that they'd trash the inside. Tear up seats, bust the radio, etc. So I wouldn't call police, I'd shoot em right there. Even if someone broke into my Saturn, I'd shoot their hiney and throw em in a ditch. Or break a leg and call cops. Whichever I'm in the mood for.

LOL...I like the idea of having the doors lock and heater turn on...or how about playing some sort of recording that sounds like a handsfree cell dialing up the police after that...maybe that would be cool.
