290 - 300 on a tank, I'm averaging 18.8 mpg right now during the daily commute, fuel mileage dropped a bit when I went with the wider tires, but the lowered suspension (pinion angle) and the E10 crap that every station seems to be using around here have also probably contributed to a couple lost mpg.

I got over 400 on a trip I took to Akron OH. In April. Cruise control set to 65 all the way.

Before supercharging, I could get the trip computer to read 26-27 mpg on the instant readout on super flat terrain on cruise control, but I'd always end up hitting an incline and the mileage would drop fast. Best mileage on a long trip was about 23 mpg and that included just minor inclines (Seattle to Portland on I-5). But, before I could finish the tank, I had a bunch of in-town driving to do and that brought the total miles for the tank way below what you guys are reporting. I suppose if I filled the tank and immediately got on the freeway and drove with cruise control at 60 mph until the tank was empty I could almost get to 300 miles, but that's not realistic driving, and it sure is a neutered method of driving a Mustang, IMO, so I'll pass.

are you guys actually calculating how many miles you went on the specific gallons of gas...

cause those of you that got 300 to a tank, your getting better than 20-22 MPG

i put 320 on a tank driving across kansas last week, and i was getting 27 MPG

fill it up, drive it till its time to get gas, see how many miles you went, then find out how much gas it actually takes to fill it again, this is the only accurate way to measure your TRUE MPG

I fill up. I reset the trip, the mpg average, and the MPG. I then do not touch it until the next fill up. I don't even look at it, I have it off, so I don't obsess with it. I get 18+ MPG per each time, 250ish miles per, so far... For a commuter, I'm ok with that... about what I got in my 96 V6 HoopTBird.

Granted, it's only been 4 fillups since I got her... Still figurin' things out... been a while since I had a 5 speed...

/pretty nifty that... I thought I'd have 6 or 7 by now... I'm being pretty good, I guess.

That would be about right if I took the highway to and from work every day. I'll have examine my range with the surface road commute.

I dunno what gears I got in the thing... anyone know how I can get that info? Seems to be the higher ones, it sure wants to leap off the line...
All 2005 and 2006 GT manual trans came with 3.55 gears from the factory. Looks like you have a 2006, so if they are still stock, you have the 3.55's. Starting in 2007, all GTs came standard with 3.31's and the manual trans had a 3.55 option. Starting in 2008, the 3.55 option was only only available on Premium GT manuals and not available on GT Deluxe models.

Trip computer tells me I'm averaging 24.8 mpg over the last 3 or 4 thousand miles, and the trip odo is usually around 340 when I fill it up.

My driving is about 60% highway at 70 - 75 mph, mostly flat ground, haven't had to run the A/C much. And when I'm not having fun with the car, I short shift it in town and try to anticipate braking situations and all that jazz.

All in all... I can't complain.

It's an 08 GT coupe 5-spd manual with 3.31s. Oh... and it's wingless -- that's gotta reduce the aero drag, too

The 3:31 rear end (and wingless trunk ) should get better than the 3:55, which is what I have along with 5-speed manual, and the best I ever got was 24.7 on a 95% highway trip from CT to Watkins Glen race track in NY. If I'm only 60% highway, however, my mileage drops to about 20-21 mpg average. And that's only if I baby it in the city driving. Mine has gotten as low as 17 mpg on a tankful, and when I ran it at Lime Rock park for an HPDE event, I averaged 6.8 mpg on the race track for 40 laps.

ok guys heres my trip from today and all the stats...

total distance 610.4 miles

LEG 1

cpu- 27.3 MPG
trip mileage- 181.4
actual gas mileage- 23.3
gallons of gas put in- 7.773

LEG 2

cpu- 24.3 MPG
trip mileage- 490.7
actual mileage- 26.601 MPG
gallons put in- 11.627
miles since last fill up- 309.3

LEG 3

CPU- 22.9 MPG
trip mileage- 610.4
actual mileage- 25.69 MPG
Gallons used since last fill- 4.66
miles went since fill up- 119.7

leg 1 was very uneventful... i went between 60-70 MPH the entire leg, and it was ALL cruise control... even accelerating.... boring. the weird thing is i only got 23.3 MPG using cruise and staying between 60-70 MPH NO AC was used during this leg, it was cool out and i didnt use any HVAC at all...

leg 2, i used a little bit of cruise here, but most of the trip was just my foot.... it did warm up and i did use the AC about 50% or more of the leg. the temp was warmer outside, this was after noon. my mileage went up 3 MPG, weird!!!! also on this leg i was passing everybody, going between 70-80 MPH the whole way... i even pushed the car over 100 MPH 2 times, and still got better mileage with warmer outside air, and using little cruise... tell me thats not odd. dont worry, i only pushed the car when there were stretches of road 10 miles ahead of me and NO traffic. I was traveling alone...

leg 3, no excessive speeding, but i was still going 70-80 the whole way, way warmer out, and passing lots of cars... used AC this entire leg. still got 25.69 MPG without the cruise and just driving however...

i really tried to squeeze out the mpg on leg 1, all cruise, etc.... but it didnt happen, when i just drove the car and didnt worry about it, i got better results.. weird.

anyway that was my trip and results...

I could probably go 300, but I'm too chicken

I average about 260-280 miles between fill-ups, but then, I don't push the envelope when it comes to the fuel gauge. Most of the time I'm pretty sure I'm leaving 20-30 miles in the tank when I hit the gas station. I've never seen a 15-gallon fill-up, in other words.

I drive an automatic with an 89 octane performance tune (I have a 93 on the same tuner but have stopping running it due to fuel costs) and a K&N CAI. I couldn't tell you if the mileage is better or worse than it was with the stock tune.

I just know that fuel prices have nearly doubled in the 16 months since I bought my car, and it sucks.

I'm consistently around 300 when the "50 miles to empty" message comes on.

I got 370 miles to a tank. Computer said 18 miles left to empty. This is a GT. But I also took it easy. Computer says mpg was 26.4 But figured it at 25.4.
Do you know how hard it is to drive a GT easy for a tankful of gas???

With 3.55 rear and cruise set at 70 mph on a long trip, I'm at 24.5 mpg. However I always refill when I get to 1/4 tank which puts me at 300 miles or so.

After letting a couple of other people drive it this fill up, looks like I'm gonna wind up with 17.7MPG this round. **** lead feet of theirs. I gotta fill it tomorrow.

/Everyone wants to play in it. Vroomin' about. Sigh...
//Bro says he had it up to 110MPH. I'm guessin' that's at least 1MPG loss right there.
///He's a cop, so it's ok...ish.
