OK, So what are the best results anyone has had from their V8 on a full tank of fuel? Of course this means you must have been driving around 60 to 70 MPH on the Highway or maybe slower. Let see who has the largest number and description on how they did it.

I've been getting about 150-170 miles a tank, but I promised myself that I would see how far I could go next tank. I'll let you know in a week.. I've been meaning to see how much mpg I could get out of it for months now, but my right foot has not been cooperating. I'll try it next tank.

I usually get around 275 to 285 miles per tank, but my communte to work is mostly back roads averaging about 40 mph. Lately I've noticed my MPG averge going up, usually somewhere between 18 and 19.

I've been getting 378 -385 miles per tank, 06 GT 5spd, 22k miles on her. I have had the computer tell me over 400 miles till empty. I've have had better mileage since I switched to Mobil 1 at 18k, a trip a few weeks ago got 31mpg.

going to myrtle beach for mustang week I managed to get a good 320 miles out of 1 tank. and took another half a tank to get the rest of the way there. I was very pleased, considering it was a straight shot down 95 cruise controlling it at 70.

I dunno if this is ok or not...
About 18 MPG overall, but it's about 260-280 miles, depending on how empty I feel like making it. City driving, 1-3-5 shifting trick. I'm still experimenting, it's only 2 weeks old for me... Heh.
I dunno what gears I got in the thing... anyone know how I can get that info? Seems to be the higher ones, it sure wants to leap off the line...

Most I've ever gotten is about 215 miles, but I typically get about 150-175 miles before I fill up (with the computer saying 20-30 miles til empty). Are you guys quoting kilometers instead of miles? How on earth does anyone get 300+ miles out of a tank in a V8 Mustang? You're kidding, right? If you're not kidding, you must live in Kansas with no elevation changes. I live near Seattle, where we have a lot of hills. Uphill, downhill, everywhere I go. Even on "mostly" flat highway trips, I can't get anywhere close to the miles that you guys are quoting. Of course, I drive VERY enthusiastically every day and every chance I can.

How on earth you say? Well, it could be relatively easy. Consider:
16.1 gallons
300 miles
18.6 Miles to the gallon is what's required to make that happen, assuming you run it dry.
The reserve is about that 1.1 gallon mark, so let's go with 15 gallons:
15 gallons
300 miles
20 Miles per gallon is now needed.
Depending on your driving habits, commute, traffic, etc, it's not totally unreachable. I'm getting 18.4 at the moment after filling up last night. I'm aiming to get more outta it before I fill up again. My commute is a mixture of traffic, lights, a bit of freeway at 60 to 70, depending on which store I need to go to, and whether there's a wreck.
Note that I'm using the 1-3-5 shifting, trying not to go above 2500 RPMs, and shifting to neutral if I can see the benefit (a red light is up ahead, or instead of braking, just coast down in speed. That kind of thing.) Oh, I also turn the car off at the drive thru, but that's just common sense... right? Heh. All that is, to me, it's own brand of fun. The restraint is difficult, but the challenge is interesting. It's exactly why I wanted the 5 speed, so I can have more control of my car (the neutral part, mainly) than the auto let me. Shifting an auto into neutral is ok, but it's not good for the tranny, and it really doesn't like being put into gear at 60MPH. It really doesn't...
In your case, though, there's these words here in your post, Five Oh:
"Of course, I drive VERY enthusiastically every day and every chance I can."
That pretty much sums up the why of it on your part...
/Don't worry. I on purpose will run her out to 6000 to blow out the carbon. I've seen what granny driving will do to a car... it's ugly. Cars need to be beat upon so they don't forget how to run.

Enthusiasm and mileage... more of one less of the other unfortunately. Of course, ONCE IN A WHILE, ya gotta teach those rice burners a thing or two, so you use the power for good, not for evil...
