Hot: Do not walk, Run to your nearest Ford dealer!
I just got off the phone with Ford Partner, they have confirmed that there is currently $4000 worth of rebates on 2006 Ford Mustangs and the x-plan price on top of that!
All of these will combine according to the a CS at Ford Partner and a supervisor at Ford Partner:
Ford Retail customer cash: $500
Retail bonus cash: $1000
X-plan customer cash: $2000
X-plan bonus cash: $500
Total $4000 off 2006 Ford Mustang.
x-plan pricing will save you an additional $1500 and up.
My idea: 2006 Ford Mustang GT with Roush Stage package for $6k off.
I know that 2006 Mustang Gts in a manual is hard to find. But it is worth the search.

Man, this is tough!!! I have an '06 with 34500 miles on it and getting worried about the warranty running out soon. This might be just what I need with the new 5/60K warranty....plus a new car to boot!

Actually Reverend, there is more than $4,000 in rebates!!! The amount is actually $5,000 for X-Plan!! I just ran a VINCENT Program view on the 2006 GT Vert Auto I got sitting here, and here is what there is:
Retail Customer Cash: $1,500
Retail Bonus Cash: $1,000
Retail A/X/Z/D-Plan Cash: $2,000
X-Plan Bonus Cash $ 500
This is a grand total of $5,000 of rebates for anyone who is X-Plan eligible. Its good till the January 2nd 2007. Hope this helps.

Jeff, you are correct $5000 for Automatics, so the $995 auto option is free basically.
But I prefer the Manual transmissions. So I put a deposit down on one in Florida. I pick it up on Sunday. Words cannot explain the excitement! It is the similar car to what you are driving, but convertible.
2006 Mustang GT Convertible: Vista Blue, Dark Charcoal Leather, 5-speed, IUP, AAT, Side airbags, over the top racing stripes in white ($395), Boot cover, wheel locks, Chrome tip(dealer installed $175) and Weather floor mats(dealer installed $75). $33805 MSRP. Out the door for under $27k. It has 385 miles on it due to be driven in 3 parades.

Is the 06 stang as good as the 07 stang? Are there improvements to the '07 that make it way better or not?
thanks!

I searched the Hampton Roads area last night and couldn't find 1 spoiler delete GT on any lot. Probably a good thing as I would be tempted to run down and buy it rather than waiting to see what is new for 2008.

Update:
Sunday, I will pickup a loaded manual Vista Blue 2006 Ford Mustang GT Convertible with white vinyl stripes. The MSRP is $34310. My price: under 28k. 385 miles on it. I will take some pictures and post after Christmas. I got pre-approved FMC financing, they are showing 2.9% for some reason, I thought 4.9% was the 60 months rate.
