Yes, you lift the hood about half way and then the struts take over, taking it to the top...

Also, with the hood open and the struts fully extended, the hood is up higher than before with the prop rod. (Maybe 4 inches)

Cool, Thanks. And I thought the hood looked like it was higher in pictures. Good thing...more room and less head banging!!!

I just recieved my set today. I got the painted black ones. Except the brackets are scratched like mad. The struts aren't as bad but still scratched. They look like they have been used. Also the hood brackets are both drivers side brackets... I'm very disapointed. I'll be calling them tomarrow and making a fuss.

They'd better replace mine too. My brackets are all scratched up, and there are no directions or HOOD STRUTS!!!

How do you forget the hood struts in a hood strut kit!!!!!

I installed the MRT Struts and think it is the most sensible mod that can be made to these cars! Very high quality - all Stainless Steel - Can be polished to a long-lasting chrome like finish easily..

I've been following these posts regarding hood strut kits because I'd like to include them in my mods. Several people have referred to MRT and CDC as suppliers. I know MRT is Mustang Racing Technologies and CDC is Classic Design Concepts, but the CDC website doesn't have anything like hood struts. Just who are they talking about when they talk about CDC? Is this another company I haven't heard of who is also making or selling struts?

The Oct 05 issue of Mustang Times (MCA magazine) has a feature on installing the CDC struts. They sure look identical to the MRT but am not sure. The website they give is: www.classicdesignconcepts.com
No price was listed

You have to give it a final push...
When you say final push are you talking about from around 6" high or you actually have to push down on the hood to get it to click into the latch? I know I will never, ever, ever push on my hood to get it to latch. I did this twice to my 97 GT and the paint cracked because the aluminum is too weak.

I agree here, your supposed to drop a hood from about 1' up and let it latch on it's own. I've done this since I bought my '94 Taurus and I do it with my 'stang.

Here's the best picture I have so far...

Notice how high the hood sits now!!!

Does anyone with these notice how the Emissions sticker really sticks out now? Has anyone removed it. I live in CA and they'd probably throw me in jail for taking the sticker off!

All Stickers Removed. One of the First things I did. Replace the one one the Radiator cover with a stick on mirror and TMS Logo.

The name of the color has disappeared from the posts - does anybody have the red color that matches Torch Red?
Thanks

I don't know what brand other people used, but I went to my local paint store (Space Age Paints in Mesa, AZ), and they mixed up a spray can for me. They found the color code in a catalog (D3 for "Colorado Red" which is the same as Torch). It matched real close. Here are some pictures.
