MRT has Hood Struts for 05/06 Mustangs for sale, to hold hood up , it is easy to installed, Scott Hoag put on my 05 Mustang you see here in picture at MCA Show in Youngstown, OH You take the bolts on backend of the hood without drilling, you add the braces to where the bolts go to, less then 20mins you have clean look of under the hood,
here's the link for hood struts from MRT

I like the fact that it doesn't require drilling any holes, but that bracket just doesn't do it for me.
Nice job on the engineering to Scott and MRT.
What about the logo? Is it easily removable?

We bought our struts from Scott and put them on at home.
It took about 15 minutes. All installation requires you to do is remove two bolts and loosen one bolt per side, install brackets, and re-tighten all bolts.
There was no problem with hood alignment, it was never an issue.
We have some other mods planned and when our stuff gets painted, we will remove them and have the struts painted to match body color.

I would have rather done this than drill holes for mine. The bracket is a little guady, but painting it body color or flat black would help tone it down a bit.
Also, I like it that the struts are further back, making them unobtrusive when working on the engine. I had to unhook one side of mine to get to the cam covers, they were right in the way, but luckily, one strut will hold the hood up while working on the other side.
I assume the brackets could be powder coated as well, which would look good.
Thanks for the pics!

I just got them yesterday. However, they sent me 2 Driver Side fender brackets by mistake. They are sending out a Passenger side today.
I didn't like the Redline Strut kit, because I didn't want to drill holes and the span of the struts are to long IMO.
I started painting the brackets last night to match the body color. I'll post pictures later... I think they are going to look great !

GTJeff,
Not much of a painter here. How are you painting them and did you get matching color with the car? Thinking of going with these struts but must get them painted.
Thanks,
Alex

Here is my 3 step system: Primer, Red, and Clear Coat.
I found this particular Red to be a close match with Torch Red...
I'll take pictures once they are on the car...

Yep, that sure is close. Do you have the number or whatever they use to identify that specific color of Red? I'm in Germany and they sell this brand on base, but would like to see if they have the same color you used.
Thanks,
Alex
p.s. Nice shinny bumper. How about some pics? I'm in pergatory until mine gets here in December and living vicariously through you all. :bang:
