I've heard that racing enthusiats prefer a prop rod, because when you start really working on the engine, you can just flip the hood and rest it on the roofline (with padding, of course). Where as with the hood shocks, its one more thing in the way and to unfasten when working on the engine.

Looks good though.
Dang - good point - that never occured to me.

I like it however not sure what kinda damage they would do to a fiberglass hood. I'd get them but I will be swapping hoods in the future.

I have heard of people messing up there fiberglass hoods with these. When they open hard, they can get ripped out. Or start to wear the connection. Especially if it is someone else working on your car (dealer, etc).

They do unclip pretty easy though if needed. If you are worried about "flipping" your hood back on your roof, then you will also need to unbolt the hood. So the two little clips are insignifigant to that.

Talk about putting an almost 500 hp car in our hands for hopefully 40 grand or less......

I think I can live with the prop rod on the Cobra......
I concur......i could live with a bent piece of metal for a hood rod. All i need are some decent pins to keep the bugger closed at high speeds !!
