Hole in Windsheild, **** rocks!

Today I was on my way home on the highway and a school bus merged in front of me and kicked up a rock that hit right in the middle of the driverside winsheild. There is an ectual dent there and it is alreadym spidering out in 3 places. My question is, can I get another OEM winsheild with the pony on it like the stock one, or is it up to the individual insurance companies? What is the best way to go about getting it replaced?

Yes, you can get a OEM windshield. Make sure you insist on it.

Fun isn't it? I'm on my second windshield in 6 months, my new one now has a small superficial chip on it too.

At this rate, I'll be replacing the windshield every year or so completely I think.

Thumbs down

I got nailed by a rock sailing toward my windshield - it left a nice dime-sized star in it.

<swearing deleted>

I don't want to replace the windshield just yet. What if the new one leaks?

Has anyone tried the DIY windshield repair kits? Do they work?

The DIY repair kits will only prevent the star from running. Even if you have it done professionly you will still see the area of impact. If the area is in front of the drivers view the glass shops will only replace not repair.

I got a little dent in mine

I also have some paint chips from flying rocks.

There's a lot of construction where I live. You can't avoid getting pelted if your car is a daily driver. Entropy will eventually win !!
