Please don't make the mistake I made! I got the TSB from Ford like everybody else concerning the factory air replacement. Well, I kept putting it off and putting it off. When I finally took the car in to have the air replaced I was 2.4 psi past my warranty. I ended Up having to pay dealer prices for replacement air out of pocket. Needless to say I am no longer a homeowner. If my post can help one person...it will have been worth the time it took to type this.

Does anyone make an at home air replacement kit? I was thinking I could use a Dyson vacuum to suck the rest of the old air out after I manually held down for release of most the air. Then fill with a small home compressor. Would the quality of air be similar to factory air? If I accidentally overfill will I need to replace all the air in that tire? Also I will have the diagram of how to get the Dyson hose attachment for the perfect amount of suction as soon as I have a new version of Autocad.

I call BS!! There's NO way I'm going to spend that kind of coin without before and after dyno results. And they better be RWHP, and not this extrapolated flywheel hp cr*p!.

 

No but as soon as I get the new version of Omniscan I will post scans of my Dyno results. I gained 1.5hp at the rear wheels! I think it has to do with the Dyson's perfect amount of suction on the remainder of the old air! What other mod under $4k can boast that!!!!!!!!

 

 

You must use nitrogen to get max hp. Regular air isn't good it will rust your rims.

this nitrous stuff your talking about in posts 71 and 73 seems like it would be a good idea. I checked into it a little bit and they have a tank I can put in my trunk for when ever I want to change my air. Kinda neat just to be able to stop any where and do a change.
I see its kind of expensive so I was thinking about picking up 3 more of those small tires they put in the trunk and running them. They take less air to fill them and maybe I can start some sort of small tire trend thing.

Your car will look awesome on a set of four of the aluminum wheel mini spares! You could try the steel wheel version too, but only if you chrome the wheels.

Nothing beats a shot of fresh air! Check with your local speed shop for any air kit specials. They should be able to recommend the best type and maintenance schedule based on your driving style and the performance you're looking for. You may also want to dyno the car after to make sure you're not short-changing yourself on the improvements that fresh air should get you.

Ford better get with the program soon. A Camaro forum said the Z28 will have helium filled tires to reduce unsprung weight contributing to "5.0 killing performance."
