Hey guys and girls. Im new at this forum stuff and not very computer literate so plz bear with me. I have a sales event flyer from Ford that says the '05 will be in showrooms on Sept 1st. I have no clue on how to post it but I can scan it and e-mail it to someone who can. Also had 2 different salesmen tell me it will be here before then, but I think I'll believe Ford over them. I've been enjoying reading these forums for about a month and any help is appreciated. Jimmy....

Just noticed that my local dealer (is a fairly reputable one) has some sort of Sept 6th date to reveal the Mustang. Might be just advertising but who knows.

The Job 1 date is Sept. 7. We've seen many sources confirming that including a union web site. BEK also just provided more info confirming that Sept 7 is correct in the other thread.

yeah i dont think that add is correct. if ford is saying job 1 starts sept 7th then its hard for the dealer to have one on their lots on sept 1. and if they were releasing them early im sure ford would have prevented the dealer from releasing it. that or the dealer wants to pay some sort of fine for releasing info

I was told today that the build date will be sooner than Sept. 7.

By whom?
If somebody who is in the manufacturing industry told you that build dates are coming up soon, they would refer to test runs as "builds"...
There are always several builds in which they specifically try one of the assembly processes and then analyze how it went during the build, then make any modifications to the process if neccessary.
so that could have been what was refered to.

i intially went in to my ford dealer, champion ford out here in katy, tx., back in february. and they had already started to mark the mustangs down. i ordered my car at the end of last month, and the sale was in full swing.
i would believe that they are on sale because they're planning on moving them out of there as quickly as possible. but just because they mark the cars down to the bottom of the barrel doesn't mean they can move X number of cars in a day, or a week. it'll take them a long time to get as much of their stock off the lot. so starting a sale now is just good business sense.
besides, mustangs aren't the only 2005 model vehicles coming in. the trucks and other cars will be ariving too. gotta make room for all that stuff too.
also, once the 05 does hit, i'm thinking the sales on 04's will fall off cause people will be interested in getting the new car. especially once they can tangibly put their hands on it.
i still hope to see my car as soon as possible, and here's to hoping, but i just don't think we'll see anything till late september at the earliest. i think the estimated 'before halloween' for the first orders sounds fair. or at least, that's what i'm prayin for.

I saw a comment on Kelly Blue Book and they said the 2004 prices are being reduced to make sure they can get ride of them before the 2005's come in. They feel that everyone is holding out for an 05, therefore dealers are reducing the 04 price to make them more attractive than the 05.

I look at it this way the longer i have to wait the longer it will be b-4 someone hits it or dings it or scraches it for me, and I'm not gonna drive mine in the snow or rain so they can hold mine till April 05.

This is interesting ... I was in my local Ford dealer this weekend also ... Mach 1s marked down to $25000 before rebates. All other Stangs marked down too.

as a side note, i also noticed that no cobras here in edmonton are on sale like the other models are. this leads me to believe one thing, that since there wont be any cobras until the 2007 model year that they want to hold on to those models as long as they can to sell at their normal price of ~$38,000 CDN. this might be strategic, this might not be, i dont know. i just think its because they want to still have cobras there on their lots in case someone wants a cobra then the 2005s out on the lots. but this i could be wrong about. i just havent seen a cobra with a sale sign on them like the other mustang models.
