I keep getting a hesitation/jerking in first gear. It's only when it's just been started up. It does it when the clutch is in or out. I went to dealer today and of course it didn't do it for them and they couldn't find anything wrong. Does anyone else have this problem?

Very very rarely I'll get it where it will almost stall as I let out the clutch. I've been driving stick for many years and have had 6 weeks with this car, so i'm just chocking it up to the Electronic Throttle.
I also occasionally get some jerking or bucking when I'm trying to drive slowly like in a parking lot. Again I think the Electronic Throttle has a half second delay in its reaction sometimes. Something my foot is not used to, but I'm getting used to it.

Do your car's buck when you let it ride on it's own with the clutch fully out & no gas on a flat surface. I just decided to try to see but mine doesnt do it. It is rolling smoothly but as soon as I apply the gas it does hesitate a bit, is this what you guys are experiencing?

I don thave the first gear hesitation.. but I have something similar to what ManE. might have been describing.. When Im crusing along and I let it out of gear and just coast, clutch out gears out, the engine will idle up faster and faster. I think it revs itself up to around 3K RPMS holds a second, then drops down to around 700 and repeats. It does this until the car comes to a stop. When I coast to a stop sometimes, the engine will sit around 2500 rpms as well, then drop off even though Im at a dead stop.

yeah my stupid cars bucks like all the time and I agree it is most positively the electronic throttle.
You can usually repeat it when you first start the car and roll out a little in first with a little gas but back off and then re-apply the gas, its like the computer snaps closed the throttle plate and then flutters inbetween being closed and the open command from when you re-apply the gas.
Causing the wild bucking in first gear, I usually push in the clutch tap up the rpm's and drop it into second, since trying to put in the clutch and then out again being off and on the throttle just makes the bucking worse usually

I know the feeling, I drove a stick for 11 years. Glad to know it's not "user error". Now if the Ford Dealer could just smooth it out. If anyone's dealer fixes it please post what they did, mine is clueless.

The hesitation is a known problem. From what a service tech told me, Ford is trying to determine why this is occuring. Remember, this is not a cable operated throttle but a fly by wire technology.

I have some bucking issues primarily with 1st gear coming off of a speed bump if I'm not smooth on the gas. There are also sometimes where the car thinks I more more power and it downshifts when I don't expect it to (yes I have an auto).

Surge, I got the got the exact same problem here (with my GT). It happens when I slowly cruise in first just after I start the car. It buckle like crazy then it goes away... Very embarassing...

I'm not sure what is more embarassing the bucking and jerking in first or having to turn the pump upside down when it doesn't want to take fuel. In both cases I get the "dumb girl" look from people.

I Have No Life
Today I had an instance of this 'bucking' and its really strange....
Slowing down to merge from highway to highway.... the person in front is about to move over and allow me to pass....
I downshift into 4rth from 5th.... @ 80km an hour.....
hold the throttle until she moves over....
as soon as she moves over I increase throttle and get this 'bucking' action that makes it feel like its missing or something...
I lay off the throttle, ease into it and no problems.
VERY VERY strange...
