I was at the Montreal Mustang club Friday night cruise-in (over 50 Mustangs and over 10 '05's tonight!).
A buddy of mine told me that a surburban Hertz here in Montreal, just got in over ten '05 GT verts for daily rentals! He rented one to try before buying, he paid $142 for the day.
BTW he said it was great, and he will be placing his order.

That's great! People have been waiting since last year and Hertz has 10 for rent! I know gt verts are not having the same allocation issues as the gt coupes but this just confirms how F'd up Ford's ordering system really is! Those 10 verts should have been converted to coupe orders for people still waiting IMO!

A GT vert does have the same allocation issues as a GT coupe simply because it is a GT. If a dealer is allocated 10 Mustangs in a given production cycle and the commodities numbers show 33% GT...that limits them to having 3 of those 10 built as GTs regardless of whether or not they are verts. At least that is the way it was explained to me since I was hoping for a quicker build date with mine being a vert. But I had to wait in line behind the other 4 GT orders at my dealership.

I just went to the Hertz site figuring if I cant get my car yet I could at least rent a vert for a weekend and have a good time. No luck. No verts of any kind available in the 2 hertz locations near me. Kinda like trying to buy a GT in Maine, none available.
