Local dealer gave me this price. I would like to know if it is really good or should be cheaper.

05 GT base model with no added features or extra options
$23,300 delivered to the dealership.
Add $400 if I want the upgraded interior with the nice dash lights and brushed aluminum look (no leather)

That is with no special plan and just walking and in and talking to the rep.

GT Deluxe Prices are:

$22,288 Invoice
$24,370 MSRP

So you are paying $1070 less than MSRP / $1012 more than Invoice

Not too bad of a deal. A few dealers in my area said the were charging MSRP. No more/no less. I got lucky with my deal. $300 under invoice.

I am getting a deal for 25,893.20 (400 over Invoice) for a loaded GT (only options I didn't get were Red Accent package,Auto trans and shaker 1000)
I hope everything is fine, as the dealer hasn't given anything in writing. He says he will put the order in next week and give me the price in writing once he has done that.
I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The $240 charge I would guess is the FDAF (ford dealers advertising fund) charge. Being X-Plan you're actually only paying $150 of that. That is the $150 in the A-Plan + $150 equation. As for the gas, it will be in the vehicle just like any other option you ordered, you're not actually going to bust someones chops for $22 on an x-plan deal are you?

Karpro, thanks for explaining that FDAF entry, and how that relates to the X plan. I was also wondering what that was. I will not give the dealer a hard time about those charges or the gas charge since the X plan is very generous as it is.

Yea, it is but this is Ford's doing, not your dealer. The worst part is they charge for the gas and quite a few of the vehicles are showing up with the fuel light on. I wonder where the gas is going?

Well if they do show up empty most dealers will just fill them when you get there to pick it up and off you go. It used to be a dealership courtesy. Oh well, it's ordered and when it gets here it's going right in the garage for the winter.

Just bought it tonight...

23,776.55 + 6% tax out the door
Deluxe GT with upgraded interior

That is ONE CHEAP 300 H.P. CAR! I didn't get any upgrades except for the interior. I didn't have any special plans either but I did know the sales guy.

you are all making me jealous:
1. i still have to pay off my lousy 2000 v-6.
2. i couldnt possibly afford that, being that I am 19, and being that i have to pay for school, working a part time job.
3. but i am waiting for a 2007 or so GT... hopefully they will have a hood scoop/ side scoop... you know, something DIFFERENT than the 6's, other than fog lights/tail pipes and rims... yeesh! (note: the 2001 Gt's are comparably different from the 99's!)

...so who will be laughing when i roll up in my better-refined-2007-mustang-gt (in dark highland green!)??

Just joking. I'm still jealous.

It's a "discount" plan offered by Ford. Direct employees get "A" plan, and they can extend the "X" plan to family and friends. Some other companies also offer "X" plan as well...dunno what ones though. It is somewhat limited though.....as a Ford employee, I can get 4 cars/year on "A" plan, and get "X" plan pricing for 4 other people/year as well. The prices for both "A" and "X" plan are on the invoice for the car. Hope that helps.
