[attachmentid=29888]Well, after a long 4 month wait (I know, not as long as many) I got the call yesterday that my screaming yellow GT convertible arrived - one week earlier than projected. We were out of town and thus did not get the phone message until today so I'll face one more long day of waiting (at work, no less) before going to pick her up tomorrow night. We did stop by and peer through the showroom floor window glass tonight and it's beautiful! (Our salesman, Chris "Goose" at Apple Valley Ford, was nice enough to pull it indoors for the weekend - in the same spot their GT40 previously held!)

Speaking of great, "Goose" was incredible. He kept us updated through every step of the ordering process and even managed to find me an '05 GT Hot Wheels car to hold me over until the real thing could arrive. He then emailed me digital photos of the car when he couldn't reach me yesterday to give me the news that it had been delivered. Although I'm not one to usually use boards as an "ad," I did want to give him kudos as it's service you seldom see these days.

I expect the car to be great and can't wait to drive it for the first time tomorrow night. Like many of you, I ordered this one "sight unseen" without ever having driven an '05. (Mine will also be the first screaming yellow GT I've seen in person.)

First off, CONGRATS!!

Second, you are going to be really, really, really surprised. Don't expect to sleep the first night after driving it..... You'll probably just sit in the drivers seat and read the manual (com'on, we've all done it)

Thanks for the 'naners everyone. Picked it up tonight and added 115 miles already. What a fun car! I think I can sum it up best with my daughter's review: "I really like the seats, dad. They're soft on my head and on the bottom. I've been sitting a while and my butt doesn't even hurt!"

My wife was the first to drive it. She stopped by the dealership this morning to get a copy of the purchase agreement for the bank and the salesman was getting ready to go top it off with a full tank of gas. She said, "Move over. I'll drive it!" and then called me from her cell phone to rub it in! She's realizing the pleasures of driving the GT - something she just didn't understand when I placed the order.

Here's to a great remainder of the summer!
