Help. Next Mods?
They are so much better than the stock shocks/struts. I installed the springs with the D-Specs, so I don't know what kind of improvement you would see there. I can guarantee you will feel a difference though. Also, the difference between the hard and soft settings are amazing too. I felt a pretty big difference when I adjusted them.
The pin itself has a loop that flips over onto the pin. This loop attaches on each side of the pin into two small holes that it pivots around. With very little pressure opening up the loop out of one of the holes you can slide the lanyard off the loop and bingo no more lanyard.
Your are right it looks much cleaner and I like being able to run with or without lanyard. I really don't think scratching the front edge of the hood is a problem as the lanyard cables are covered in a clear vinyl cover. I will try to get pictures after work Friday, from all angles and close up. But please don't laugh at my redneck primer gray spoiler, I'm waiting to have it repainted.

Thank you! That would be perfect.
So which pins did you get exactly you have a link?

Here's the link,
They may be elsewhere, but this is where I got mine.
The threaded part is especially better than others I've seen because everything is aluminum or stainless and will not rust. I am not sure how it will work with yours I think you said you have an aftermarket hood. I will get pictures and as soon as I can get out of work.

Gary is right on the money - and that's what I was planning on doing - running them WITHOUT the lanyards.
Truthfully, if I have to park somewhere I was worried about, I would simply take the pins with me and put them in my pocket.

So those are the same ones Shelby sells minus the name? And you both said the lanyard can be removed? Hmm... Payday was today but money went to bills. Next paycheck I'll look into a set. I just hate how the hood dances at 80mph+. Scary. How hard are these things to install? Also, does this add stress to the area where the hood was drilled? I heard poeple were getting cracks and was spreading through the hood.
Well I took some decent night pictures but they won't seem to load because I used to large a setting. I'll take some lower res pictures tomorrow.
To answer yes same minus the name. Lanyard easily removed and reinstalled and removed. My hood will not move now, not even at 100+. My hood is original hood so it is aluminum so cracking not a problem. The threaded studs can be raised up or lowered in the bracket making the pin tighter or looser. So higher gives more play that won't stress the hood and lower and you have to push down on the hood to get the pin in. I just doble and triple checked everything before placement and drilling.

Gary or Burke, were you able to get those pictures of the hood pins? I was on the highway today and it was gloomy and windy and my hood did some crazy moves. I need pins asap.
Pictures please? I want to see how raised the shelby pins look like from different angles and such. Only thing thats holding me back is that they look like they are really "big" compaired to the flat hood pins most poeple are sporting.
Please, pictures!
Lots of them. BTW, how long have you had them? Are the screws also anti-rust?

Hood Pin Pics
Finally got pictures of the shelby billet hood pins without logo. Pins are raised a little bit just because of the material. I like it better myself but I am partial. Most pins look cheap to me, but these look like they belong on a nice modern day car with retro look.

D-Specs AND the Spoiler Delete (SD won't cost you much, if anything. You might even be able to talk your dealer into letting you swap trunks w/ a V6 of the same color
dude if you do hoodpins, go with the SHELBY ones for like $100 (you can get them in silver WITHOUT the logo)
I just saw them at the Silver Springs show a few weeks ago and they are hands down the best ones I have seen. They are coated so they won't rust, come with rubber gaskets, the whole deal - REALLY nice and considering them myself
I took a few pics at the show and will post so you can check them out

I figured with a supercharger on the way I'll need something to keep the hood down under hard acceleration
I may also do D-Spec shock/struts with LCAs around the same time

For the power I'm after, both Voretch and Procharger can get me there no problem. 425-450 is where I'd like to be on stock bottom. Then I decided on looks and, no offense to any procharged stangs', but Vortech looks nicer under the hood. Even a polished procharger doesn't mean "fully polished" just the headunit which is facing the other direction. If I wanted the pipes all polished by a local shop... $$$.
So I decided on a polished Vortech H.O system. Getting a GREAT price from this local shop installed and custom dyno tuned. I haven't found a better deal yet. I had to wait a couple of weeks for my finance offer to take effect. So in little over a week is when i officially pull the trigger.
