I just installed a set of the HANKOOK VENTUS V12 EVO K110, so far they have been incredible, did some very aggresive hills and twisties a couple weeks ago and they stuck like glue, a little over $900 for a set at Discount with the lifetime certificates.

I went shopping at Summit racing a couple nights ago- ended up with 255/45-18 Riken ZR tires think they ran 125.00 ea. Rained cats and dogs today- was wondering if the wider tires would be spinnin easier(always been the case when I went wider in the past) but they stick...could roll into full throttle in first and second without breaking loose at all...suprised the heck out of me as the old pirellis would wheelhop severely way before full throttle.
Time will tell how they hold up, but they run very quiet on the highway- even the crappy highway I take everyday to work- the seams made the pirellis sound like a basketball on concrete(that hollow 'ringing' sound) the new ones are silent. only noticable difference is a brick road downtown, the new wider tires have more of a skateboard feel compared to the 235/55-17s I used to run, but other than on the brick road, I'd say definitely better...on bricks/similar theyre worse, but not much.

Those are the tires I really wanted, but they weren't readily available when I had to buy new tires. They have earned rave reviews in several tire tests.

My 1st tire change was to the 255/45/18 Best choice for that wheel.
And I loved the heck out of my Goodyear F1 GS D3's. Nothing better in wet and dry thats for sure.
but they arent cheap either. Glad I worked for Goodyear

I do sort of miss my fanblades, but they just weren't wide enough in the long run.

Lame .gif I made of my wheel cycle, minus my drag radial wheels, lol.

Yeah I really like the fan blades, as well as the 18" polished bullits. It's ashamed they didn't come in a bigger width.

Perfect thread for me. I am tossing between the Conti DWS or BFG SS. Pricing between 235 and 255 here in Canada is quite a bit more and not a whole heck wider. I know 20 mm but is it worth 100 bucks extra? What do you guys think?

$100 for all four worth it? Heck yeah. No question in my mind, I'd say go for it.

I have the General UHPs in 255/35-20s, and they stick much better than I'd ever expected. All the reviews on TireRack state they're the softest, most comfort oriented, with the lowest noise level. I like them just driving around, bit loud on the highway but all lo-pro summer tires are. They've survived two track days so far, third coming up this weekend, assuming the weather holds up.

Maybe it will work out that come tire time, I will be on a road trip to Oregon.

Lol, I am actually going back to work for them, just Saturdays tho. They laid me off in Sept. 4 months later I found a new better job, but still want/need more money, so I asked them if they needed help for Saturdays since I was off that day. But really just need to get my discount on tires as I am due.

Off topic, but Goodyear apparently quit making the F1 Supercars for the 18" GT500 OE's
Nothing on Goodyears site for the 285/40/18 anymore. and the fronts either. Too bad, they were priced really cheap.
