Help a Kid Restore His Mustang II
I can't imagine how he would feel if we could make this dream come true. My first car was a Mustang II 2+2. It was white. My dad bought it as a project car and ever since then I have been hooked. I will definately help him out on this.
Calling Mustang's Unlimited on Monday.
Not enough people are reading this thread though, we have to help this kid out guys!!! Purchase those gift certs!!! Let's make this thread a sticky!!! Overhaulin would be the ultimate, I can't imagine the kids response when he gets a load of what Chip Foose does to his car.
Of course after just losing his father stealing the car that both of them were working on might not be a good idea. I'd hate to cause him more pain than he is already going through.
I'm moving this thread over to SVTPERFORMANCE.COM to get more exposure.

The original address was wrong. The correct address is
Josh Hill
214 3rd Ave
Shell Lake, WI 54871
Please call Mustangs Unlimited if you bought Josh a gift certificate and ask them to change the address.

Just an FYI -- I have a '78 Mustang II Ghia that I've had since '79. I restored it in '97. Unfortunately, most distributors have very limited parts or supplies for a Mustang II. AND, that includes Mustangs Unlimited. If he needs engine parts or body parts, Mustangs Unlimited has very few, if any items (I know). A lot of the interior, mechanical parts, are exclusive to Mustang II's. For example, engine mounts for a '78 with a V-8 302 have to be for that model year, etc. Unfortunately, I can't offer a solution, except maybe to go out on to www.mustangii.net and click on distributors. These distributors have parts exclusive to the Mustang II cars and might be better able to help him out or steer him to other Mustang II distributors who can. Just my 2 cents.

Any thought of just getting some money together to buy him an 06 V6 Mustang with the Pony Package. I realize he did some work on the Mustang II with his dad but I bet his dad would be very proud to see his son in a new Mustang. I'm sure the Mustang community as a whole could raise quite a bit of money. That's just my .02 cents.
I sent Chip and email....this is what I said
Hi, I am a member of The Mustang Source Forums. We are making an effort to help a kid restore his 1977 Mustang II...but he's special...here's his story:
One of the members of the MustangII.net Forums has a 15 year old high school kid that works for him over the summer and part-time on the weekends. His name is Josh Hill. Last year he bought his first car, a plain-jane 1977 Mustang 2+2. He bought the car as a father-son project and really likes the II's. The car is solid, but it needs a total resto. Josh and his dad took the car home last winter to start the resto. They got it disassembled and started putting all new parts on it. Three weeks ago Josh's dad died tragically of a heart attack at the age of 38. He was a wonderful man and Josh really is a special kid. He IS NOT a typical teenager. He works hard and is very respectful. Josh needs the Mustang community's help to restore his car. His family is poor. It would BLOW THIS KID AWAY if he could get help to restore his car, such as being Overhauled.
I don't know much about him or his car, but the story touched me. On TMS Forums, the effort consists of sending gift certificates from Mustang Parts sites, sending him parts, or sending Overhaulin' applications. I think Overhaulin would be the best though. Would you be willing to Overhaul his car? If so, here is his info (this is all I know):
Josh Hill

If you can't Overhaul him, could you at least help him with getting parts? People on TMS Forums said they also contacted Troy Trepanier, and he forwarded the story to all his vendors....could you do so please?
Thanks alot Chip,
Zach

Ok, I've had people come by my house all the time trying to scam by saying they ran out of gas and just need to borrow some money or whatever. How do I know that this is legit and not just another scam? Sorry if this is Legit, but I'm very sceptical because of all the scams I've seen or heard about.
this should be a sticky. I blew it off thinking it was somebody jsut spamming the board, until i saw the poster. I will try to donate what i can to the kid.
Anyone know how much/what he has collected thus far? Is he keeping it stock, or ishe modifying it?
