Never heard of that problem before. What kind of tuner do you have? Whose tune are you trying to load?

Make sure the connector harness is pushed all the way in, I've had it not work before because of that.

SCT Xcal2, Bama tune.

I'll check the harness right now.

I wonder if you somehow got the wrong strategy code for the tune? Either Doug sent the wrong strategy tune, or what is actually in the computer is different than the tag that is in the engine compartment. That can happen if Ford dealer updates the computer and forgets to update the tag. Then you read the tag to send to Doug, and boom...no go.

yeah TZZ2, that's my tune...could it be something with the dealer?
the dealer was Evolution Performance, and the tune was from Bamachips.

I dunno. Unless like I said earlier, you may have gotten the wrong strategy tune sent to you for whatever reason. Did you verify that strategy with your X-Cal? It is the same as what you told your dealer when you bought the tunes??

Ok, I switched everything back to stock.

I bought the tuner used from someone who used it on their 06 GT manual.
I was told everything went back to stock, so the tuner should be unlocked.
The original dealer was Evolution Performance.
I bought a tune from Bamachips. I'm postive that the strategy code is TZZ2.
The tune loaded and everything was fine until I hooked it up to my OBD2 port.
It says, "ERROR-ECM not supported"

I have no idea. Contact Doug and see what he says. Make sure and tell him all the details like you just did in your last post. It may take him a while to get back with you though, waiting sucks!! Good luck!

Isnt there a way to read the code through the X3/X2 and then verify whats tagged on your ECM?

Yeah, there's a table here or on another forum which lists the computer codes and the corresponding strategy codes. If they match then there's another problem.

Check out this thread. It details the different strategies and corresponding computer codes. Read the strategy off the car with the X-Cal, then match it up to the table. See if what is printed on the engine compartment tag matches the table.

maybe I am wrong but I thought you could only pair a tuner to 1 vehicle, and that one only.?

no what you have to do is go into the SCT liveload software and click unlock so the tuner will be unlocked and you can use it on your car, if you have not done this then the tuner is still married to the other car. And you can unlock a tuner 5 times for 5 different cars before it is unable to unlock anymore and must be sent back to SCT to return it to its 5 unlock form

I didn't think he could load new tunes unless it was unlocked? I guess you are right Ira, that does make sense now. The tuner was returned to stock, but just not unlocked.

ok i guess for future reference. fo whoever has this problem, here's what happened.

ERROR-ECM not supported.
Tried calling Doug at Bama, no dice.
Called SCT, their tech support was amazing

So basically I needed to update the firmware, 1.10 to 1.15, d'oh!
And needed to use Windows XP, I only have Vista.

After that, everything went fine.
The install was great, the stang pulls a lot harder now.
I'd say 7/10, the CAI + tune is over-hyped, imo.
Someone said it felt like a new engine dropped in overnight...
um yeah right.

So props to SCT, great customer service.

What tune did you load? If it was an 87 Performance tune, they are good...but the 93 ones are the real deal.
