Thumbs down

I was at Fun Ford Weekend in Ennis, TX this past weekend. Ford had a big display with a bunch of cars, including the new GT, and the Mustang GT. They cranked them both up and the Mustang sounded pretty decent, really. Exhaust will still be one of the first things I do to it, but it sounded relatively good. The new GT was waaay quieter than I thought it would be. In the back, there were 2" tailpipes sticking out of 5" holes - it looked silly almost.

The sound quality in the recordings is about right, the recording I took of the car made it sound WAY louder than it is.

I agree, the first mod for me will be exhaust, and I am sure aftermarket mufflers will fill up those cutouts

We need a "This thread is worthless without audio" smiley.

Is part of that because you are inside the car? Or is this based on being outside the car? I ask because I heard it was quiter inside due to placement of the mufflers.

I've only heard the car on the outside, and I liked the sound of it, but thought it should have a deeper tone. I think the aftermarket exhaust companies will have plenty of business from '05 Mustang owners including me.

I heard it standing behind the car, about 15 feet back, no engine load. I wonder how it's going to sound with load.

I wanted to tape it, but my vid-cam battery had just died. I've got some pics of the car, but haven't pulled them off the camera yet.
