I expect a lot of you have had a burned out bulb inside the headlight switch.
Your loving dealer will be happy to tell you there is no part number and can only offer to sell you the whole switch. Who wouldnt want to spend $60-80 bucks for a $2 bulb.
Wondering if any of you have found a suitable replacement. I heard of a few, but not as much light as original. I might try one of my left over clear bulbs from when I did my own interior lighting on my 07. Of course, I'll have to do a little soldering and handle very carefully reusing the old lamp holder.
I knew that used to light up... I looked one night and only the little fog light thingie lights up but nothing else.! Guess I'll be inquiring about that the next trip to the dealer and see what they say....knew I wasn't going crazy...at least not yet!!

DON'T have the dealer sell you some stupidly priced light bulb. Get the T4 LED Neo Wedge bulbs.
$2.99 from this seller, get the white color since the light switch is filtered internally with green. (the blue won't light up that well and it will still be green.)
I bought these March of last year after discovering my light bulb had long since burned out - it wasn't pretty.
Fixing it is easy - the entire headlight switch assembly just snaps out. Use a plastic interior trim puller (essentially a flat plastic screw driver) to pry out the headlight switch, disconnect, and then remove and replace the bulb using a large flat screwdriver. It's a simple half twist to remove/replace.
Now plug in the headlight switch and turn on your headlights. If the LED doesn't light up, you have the polarity backwards. (it's directional). Pull the T4, turn it 180 degrees and reinstall. Turn on headlights again to test. If it lights up, then snap the assembly back into the dash - you're done!
It's EASY and for around three bucks a no-brainer repair.
Just got the ones I ordered in the mail. Came from Japan, worked flawlessly. And yes use the white. I also ordered them in green and was a little dull. so went with the white.
