Headlight Install

Hey guys,

I will buying a pair of halo headlights soon and wanted to get some information on the install so that when they arrive I can get right to it.

I want the halos come on with my turn-signals (unless this is really difficult, then I will go with the fogs.) What do I have to do in order to make this work? Do I need to slice wires, figure out how to run a cable to the switch in the cab, what? A step by step would be phenomenal; any photos would be great too.

Thanks.

If I can offer you one piece of advise, based off of my experience with these, MAKE SURE YOU SEAL THE HEADLIGHTS YOURSELF, EVEN IF THEY APPEAR TO BE SEALED ALREADY.... This will save you from having to take the front clip off the car multiple times. I bought the ones from CarID, and am now on my fourth set. The first set did not leak any water but, had a halo burn out. Starting from that set on, each replacement I have received, has had at least one light that leaked water into them or gets condensation in them, which eventually leads to the Halo going out, and they had to send me new ones. The third ones also filled with water or condensation every time it rained, or I washed the car, leaving me with a cloudy, crappy looking headlight.
After having to use a hair dryer jimmy rigged with a funnell and a plastic hose (which I could feed into the light through the hole for the bulb) several times to dry out the light, I finally called CarID and they suggested I seal them myself (they sent me the link below). I wasn't too happy to have to seal them myself since I paid $200+ for new lights which should have had some QA done, but it has paid off so far. They didn't realize that the entire front clip of our cars have to be remove to replace the headlights, and each time you need to return a light they place a hold for another $200+ dollars on your Credit Card until they get the old set. This last set I got looked good out of the box but I sealed them myself and they have now lasted about 4 months.
As far as wiring them, you can either just use wire taps and tap into the parking lights so they come on with those (Make sure you tap into the smaller "parking" light and not the turn signal "parking" light or they will flash with your signals. Or you can find an unused fuse slot under the hood (Google "unused switched power fuse 05-09 mustang")that gets power only with they key (that's how I did it).

GOOD LUCK!!!

).

As mentioned, definitely make sure to seal them yourself. Here's a link: http://www.k2motor.com/05-06-07-08-0...-black-tm.html click on videos, and there's a few. The easiest way to wire them is to splice into the parking lights. You can buy some connectors at walmart that are pretty easy to use.
