Congratulations. Please let us know what your build date is when you find out.

Yup, your dealer should have the build date next week.

The build date assigned will not always be the actual build date. Cars get delayed due to problems in the various shops. Cars are only sequencial up to paint. Then they get mixed and shuffled in paint. It could be another day or two (or longer if there were any problems with the body welds or in paint) before it gets put in the buffer system waiting to be shipped over to final assembly.

I checked the FAQ for this and could not find anything, so I hope it is okay to bring up. Once the VIN is assigned, is there anyway to track the car being built ? Kind of like that web page that tracks airline flights ? And... if Ford does not have such a system .. would they like one ? I would be glad to help them design and build a web (and phone) based system for those nuts who really want to track their cars.

There is a voice mail system that is used (By dealers).....I used it a few years ago to track progress thru system. Individuals can no longer use it however as it now prompts for a live operator. the sales manager can give you updated tracking also on your car, they get that info daily
