I am a Quality Manager in the wheel business. We polish and buff wheels for the Big 3. Some very high profile projects too! Viper, C6 Corvette, Ram SRT 10 to name a few. At one time, we used to Polish and Buff the Cobra rim. The V6 Mustang Pony program just ended.

I can tell you, that you will pay an arm & a leg for those 18 inch wheels at a dealer! You are better off either waiting, or buying after markets!

I really like the 18's, and I am willing to wait ( For now ). I am also waiting to hear about a Mach 1. So the wait might be worth it.

But, you never know? Next spring rolls around, and I might give in - LOL

Even if its a $1400 option, it would still be cheaper than the aftermarket. I can't believe that the factory rims would be more expensive.

Anyway, let us know if you seen anything for the 05 pass under your nose.

I think the front flare projects out further from the fender than the rear on the top.
this picture is exactly what I was talking about...
not to make a big deal about it... but for me if you put a side by side pic of the current car at this angle next to this pic... you can see that the 05 is less pronounced in the rear...
for me anyway I think that the rear if anything should be larger to compensate for the huge 315's I plan on putting gin the back...
again not a huge deal, but something that I think will re-appear on a SE car.

and with the wheels... you can right now buy from many places O.E. ford wheels including the 18 inch fr500 wheels for like 150-dollars....
those would look great!!!!!

my opinion is that the overall wheel (tire + rim) is too small on the mustang. getting 18s won't change this, as the rim will be larger but the tire smaller, resulting in a identical overall diameter (I did a posting about this in a thread a while ago)

thats why I want 18's now but with more sidewall than what was shown in the shows. I've said this before many times in other topics.

I researched Mickey Thompsons and couldnt find tires made for bigger rims like 17's or 18's. Do they make any or is it true they don't?

It's Because the top of the Front Fender is more radiused, than where the rear Flare meets the Rear quarter panel. Look at the pic, The Rear and Front flares are at the exact same point at their flat/outer edge. The rear quarter panels are wider at the top and have more of a shoulder than the front fenders do, along with the Pronounced Wedge shape of the body overall, so it makes the rear flare seem smaller. If you look at this picture also it seems to me that the flare in the rear is more pronounced further down on the body side than the front from this perspective.

As far as seats go... I think it has to do with side impact regs. Ford may have requested seat mounted airbags -I don't think those seat manufactures have anything like that yet
Mine do.....Top-grain leather Recaros heated with side airbags

Holy Sh??..... those look great!!!!!!!
Also Recaro is a Detroit based company... you might think that they would at the very least be an option......
I will buy those... and they will be on my Silver 05 GT, lowered about an inch front and rear, with chrome liped Black 19 HRE wheel's, 19x10 rear, 19x9/12 front!!!!
Also black honeycomb between the lights!!!
