It's a "chip" (really its a resistor in a fancy box) that you tie into the iat sensor circuit, that tricks your vehicle to thinking its much hotter outside so the engine will run leaner giving more power. And while its doing that, it is also causing your engine to, start pining, have detonation, and melt the piston and rings. So your call
