If I recall - it was the Camaro that was so unreliable. Maybe I'll go buy one Oh yeah, they don't make them anymore. Wonder why????? By the way, I was not offended.

I have had really good service out of the past Fords that I have owned, so I wasn't scared at all to buy my GT. Mine was built in April... So far no problems out of the Shaker 1000, I haven't heard anything but the beautiful sound of the 4.6 liter engine coming from under the hood. I have no complaints. I hope to own this car for a long time unless the urge hits me to trade it for a Cobra.

By the way, I have never owned a Ford that I thought had great paint. But I will say this, I have never had the paint peel off like it did on the GM's a while back.

My wife drives a pontiac. I swear that car was designed to self destruct after three years of ownership. If you want to own a rolling junk pile, buy a Grand Am. Now that is why I would be scared to buy any car with a Pontiac name plate on it.

As for the Mustang. The car looks good from the outside, even better on the inside, and man does she drive good. My wife likes the feeling I get after driving this car.

I would not hesitate recommending this car to anyone, I took delivery of the car in Oct., and have had the gassing up problem twice.
No other issues here.

... but I can only think of 3 primary issues with the new Mustang: fuel tank, struts popping and the skanker...
And a bunch of TSBs. Being the first year is understandable. Considering the powertrain is mostly the same, with the exception of it being 3v, 3 years to develop is more than sufficient to put out a better product.

I am not knocking the Mustang, if anything I am kind of envious I don't have one, but I call them as I see them. 50% customer satisfaction for TMS members is not that good.

I have had my GT for 2 months now and I
-have no popping noises
-no skipping of the Shaker (and I use it all the time)
-pump gas as fast as I want
-no hesitation
-and the sun always shines when it comes out of the garage

This is the only car I would consider buying.

My wife used to be perfectly happy with the '93 5.0 LX. Now she grouses on grocery shopping day because it's the "designated" Walmart car, meaning she has to drive it to work, too. I'm pretty sure she loves the GT!

Hey mine is popping but I will get around to having it fixed. I called and asked the uneducated bum at the Ford dealer to read the tsb and make sure the parts were in before I brought it in. He said they had to diagnose it first before they would order any part. He acted like I was stupid for telling him about a tsb. Knowledge is power.

I think you need a catagory, "handing out cigars" instead of "ready to explode" heck I just like to go to the garage and look at it. My Baby.

Paint quality is the worst thing about this car, everything else's great. I'm very satisfied.

I'm very pleased and satisfied with my white GT. Had a problem with the gas tank, but changed gas stations, and NO MORE PROBLEMS!! Single CD radio skips with homeade CD's.....thinking of getting an XM radio anyway.

paint seems to chip very easily - 2 trips on the freeway and my stang ended up with two chips while driving under 50 mph. One from a piece of bark at about 40 mph. So I now avoid freeway driving in the stang.

my 2003 libertys paint has a total of 6 chips in two years of freeway driving including camping and driving over the passes.

I wouldnt even consider taking the stang over the pass - unless I want to do alot of touch up afterwards.

But as for the overall car experience - I am happy.. the car is a blast to drive..

Had mine since December and except for a rattle in the passenger side air vent, no problems at all. Love the car.

However, I had to leave the Mustang sitting it storage for the last two months while I've been overseas. It will be another month until I get back, so I have my fingers crossed that all will be well when I crank it up again.

Have had the same (occasional) very minor rattle on passenger side as above, problems with gas tank a handful of times but could always manipulate to get tank full and no problems recently. Very satisfied as of now, and will be ready to explode when I get the supercharger next year. Really, the biggest complaint I have about this car is the mod disease I seem to have caught about a month after delivery.

This car absolutley blows me away.
It is everything that I expected and so much more.

Now, 300 miles and 1 week of driving is hardly a true test, but if all the things happen that are mentioned here and they do eventually get fixed, it will still be worth every darn penny I paid for it.

This car has looks, attitude, ***** and the willingness go for it.

The paint on mine has one blemish on the hood. It looks like something got on it before the clearcoat was put on. I tried to polish it but no luck. It is VERY faint, and you would never see it unless you were looking for it. I still can't find it half of the time. Other than that, the paint is awesome. No orange peel at all, and it is as smooth as glass. None of the roughness from the railyard b/c mine shipped by convoy carrier and then rail the next day. I don't think sat there very long. Overall, I am thrilled with the paint quality, and was actually expecting it to be a lot worse.
