and saw the Nokya Artic White picture shown as a twin-pack for $49.95. I ordered two twin-packs but got a box with only two individual bulbs with no markings on them other than the box said "H13 9008 hyper white headlight bulbs 12V 60/55w." On the bulb casing there is no designation other than a Mar 05 date. I was charged $104.00 for two unmarked bulbs!

I've emailed ryan@nlmotoring.com twice in two days with no reply, and I called the number on the receipt and only got an answering machine.

It's your money, but I'd stay away from these folks. Why the bulbs didn't come in the plastic twin-pack package advertized on the web site is fishy enough, and I understand mistakes happen; but not hearing back is not good business.

Not 5 minutes after I posted that note on three different Mustang forums, I got an email from Ryan. He said it must have been mis-packed, he's shipping out another two bulbs.

I asked him why they are not in the advertised plastic package. No answer yet.

"The shipment we received was the very first to arrive in the US. SPW Inc., the parent company of Nokya doesn't yet have the mold for an H13 base, so they couldn't sell them with their normal packaging - and due to the extremely high demand for H13 bulbs, we worked with them to package them in the white boxes so they could start shipping immediately. We purchased the entire first shipment of Nokya bulbs, so we are the exclusive distributor for them until the next shipment comes in, approx 60-90 days from now.

Ok,

After all the trepidation, and then the assurances from Ryan that the other two bulbs were on their way, I installed the first set in my '04 F150. I turned the headlights on after changing just one bulb, and there is a huge difference in color. The stock Sylvania H13 is very yellow, and the Nokya is very white with a slight hint of blue, but not so much as to suggest a HID setup.

Overall I am very pleased with them. They better match the 9005STs I replaced the fog lamps with.

I had to completely remove the lens assemblies on the F150 to replace those lamps, but it was only 3 bolts, so the whole job was done in 20 minutes.

 

Wow - I was definitely paying attention - mine are on the way to me right now!

It was not my intent to slam an innocent vendor; I was posting a warning to protect the consumers on this forum. I've had very few complaints about any distributor, and after posting a warning, I thought it only fair to follow up and let everyone know that it turned out well in the end.

 

Heck yeah man - that is MOST apreciated and one of the things that is great about this site - sharing the info about the good and the bad. Just glad, that this looks to turn out being one of the good.... cause that's good.....

Yes. The web site has been modified to explain why the packaging is different from the picture. As for the mis-packaging of my order, that can happen to anyone. I was satisfied by his explanation, and I should have the second set of bulbs early next week.

 

I've purchased from him, also. I have the artic whites in the headlights and put yellow replacements in the fog lights. I'm very pleased!

 

I live in new york are these illegal?

 

I was in traffic court for a speedign ticket a few years ago and whiel I was waiting for my case, there was a kid there who was fightign a ticket for having some sort of bright white headlights in his car (I don't remember now the exact name). He stated that he bought them at Pepboys and figured they were legal. According to the judge and officer they were illegal due to the brightness and he had to pay the fine.

 

Last update. Today I received the second set of bulbs that were missing from the original order, shipped Priority Mail. Very good turn-around time; since I got a note from Ryan last Friday saying he would ship the bulbs out right away.

One note. The warranty on these bulbs is 60 days from the purchase date, so I wouldn't recommend buying them if you haven't yet taken delivery of your stang. Wait until you drive it home--otherwise, if a bulb is bad you won't know until the warranty has expired. At $50 a pair, that's a lot of $ to lose.

 

Just installed mine also look great!! But I'm waiting for the sun to set so I can see them in action!!

 

How long do these bulbs last? I hope a while for that much $$. And these are not HID so they should be legal, but seem expensive.

 

I've seen posts where the Silverstars don't last as long as regular bulbs, but who knows--they aren't rated in hours like household bulbs. They burn brighter, so I expect they won't last as long.

That's the price you pay for bright!
