I'm going to Las Vegas tomorrow..My Question is... How are these cars doing in the extreme Heat... Any worries or concerns..I'm looking at temps of 120+ in Baker & 115 in Vegas.. I'm thinking I'm glad it's white!!!!

No problems at all. The only "problem" is if you end up in a traffic jam and are parked in it for too long, taking off again can be a big letdown as the motor will pull back timing like a son of a gun and make your car quite sluggish. Once you get air flowing around it again it will return to normal though.

It took standing in a 3 hour freeway closure in 112+ heat to even observe my temp gauge move even the slightest bit. So far this car gets an A++ with it's ability to put up with extreme heat.

Ah yes, the big thermometer in Baker. I have seen 115 on it before. Stay cool.

I spent the afternoon driving around Phoenix in 118 degree heat with the GF (truck shopping). No problems! A/C worked great and my boy Flash ran quite well.

Ford, GM, and Toyota have their test tracks in Central Arizona for a reason!

OK try like 120+ in vegas. Yesterday some of our normally cooler areas were 121. It is bad hot here. Knock on wood no problems. A/C works great. Make sure tires are properly inflated, and if you can ease up on the A/C in anyway do so. It does tend to be sluggish from a stop, but once it gets going, it sure does gallop like normal. ^_^

Make sure you have a sun shade for your windshield and get ready to be burned from touching the steering wheel if you park your car for more than 2 mins.

The IUP on the dash and steering wheel sure holds the heat. I gotta get a sunshade.

So I am not the only one that has been branded by the steering wheel trim! I too am on the way to get a sunshade. Must be a penalty for those of use that use the "9 and 3" instead of the "10 and 2".

I'm lucky, my car is covered at all times. Thankfully I don't have to take it shopping or anything. I have a truck and an SUV for that stuff!

Good thread Tracy.

And Tony, thanks for the timing info. My car always seems slugish in the summer, especially when the humidity is up like it is now. It's power is normal for the first few minutes of driving, but then gets really disapointing. I wish I could somehow keep it at that intinial power level. My '03 was the same way. I can't wait for the fall and the lower humidtiy so I have a real Mustang again.

Well she made it home..Safe & Sound...Thanks for all the replys..For the most part she handled the heat very well..Only gliches I noticed were a slight clutch shake..Almost from the very first red light on the strip...and continued for the entire time I was up there..The parking garage was no relief from the heat for her..Temps in there never got below 130.. Night or Day..Hard enough for a human to breath in there let alone a car...But she handled it for the most part like a champ..I started her every morning and took her for a cruise..No problems, till this morning as I was leaving to come home..I started her up and drove her down the 6 levels of the parking garage..( which is about a 1/4 mile ) to the light to turn on to the strip..sat for the light for about 1 1/2 mins ( The motor is more than warmed up by now ) The light turns green.. I make the turn.. Shes going about 20 mph..And I stand on the gas..(Just for fun ) She starts to take off like normal,Then she falls right on her face for about 2 sec's (The sensation was like turning the motor off then back on )..I'm thinking vapor lock..but not sure She ran perfect the rest of the 335 miles home... Home now running fine..No Shake and no nose dives
