GT Purchase Question/Wheel Question

Hey Guys,
I've been browsing around on this forum for a while and finally decided to register!
I currently own a 1967 Shelby Replica, but have decided to move on and sell it. I have my eyes set on the 2005 Mustang, but have a couple quick questions for you guys before I go out and buy one!
1) Has anyone purchased a new 2005 GT off the lot at MSRP, along with an X-Plan discount? All of the dealerships I have called in Southern California either have dealer markups, or won't accept the X-plan discount on the car. I would love to order a car from Ford to avoid the dealer markups, but can't because I will need a car once mine sells on eBay.
2) If I can't get the GT, I will probably go with the V6 model. Problem is, I really love the V8 wheels found on the GT premium. I noticed that there are many auctions on eBay with the 17 inch wheel/tire combo from the GT. Will these wheels/tires fit on the 2005 V6 model?
Thanks in advance!
Mike

Thats a nice ride
Why would you ever want to get rid of that????
I know you should be able to get quite a sum for that car. Buy an '05 and have plenty left over for mods. For that matter, just go all out and get a Salleen or a Steeda
Good luck on your quest though. I'm sure you'll find what you like and be happy.

I had a very short commute every day (around 20 miles round trip), but that commute has now increased to about 100 miles round trip each day. With the gas prices and the thought of having that thing on the freeway five days a week pushed me to put it up for sale. It was a tough decision; that car gets endless thumbs ups and has won almost every show it was entered in

OMG! Keep the Shelby clone, get classic (limited use) insurance on it, and buy a cheap econobox to commute in! DO NOT sell something that they make no more of! You'll regret it. So it's a clone, so what? Do you know what the real ones sell for? The popularity of the real ones alone will make your car worth keeping. You can get a pretty cheap commuter car for every day. I don't mean to really be telling you what to do. Only you know what's best for you, but I've sold cars that I still pine for, and I frequently think, "My God, I wish I still had that car. I can't even afford to replace it, now." If you sell, don't let anyone give you the "It's not real" BS. Even a stock '67 in that condition should bring a good chunk of change. Good Luck.

I was told on this form that the v6 rims would not fit the V8 because of brake clearance in the front. I would love to pick up the v6 rims if they fit for snow tires on the GT.
