Don't know why they can't produce more GTs initially since that is where the demand is...
Sounds like they have limited supply on some parts specific to the GT.

Same thing on limits on the IUP. Limiting IUP to 35% of production sounds like a big problem to me. I don't think many people will skip that option, unless maybe Ford knows some large institutional buyers don't want it. Even the order guide suggests 50% IUP, and that seems low to me, too.
I would bet it's the new 4.6L engine that is in limited supply, which will be used on other ford products, I'm sure ford would prefer selling more GTs instead of the V6 cars if they could supply them.

Ok, if I don't get my GT in mid-late Oct. I'm going to get a 350Z. :bang:

There is one Ford sale down the drain. BTW, the 350Z is a nice car. If it had a back seat it would be on my alternate list. Good luck to you.

Get a G35 then. They are amazing cars, even the sedans! If you don't want the Stang of course
You are a good guesser, it is on my alternate list. The problem is that I don't believe that the G35 provides the same driving experience as the Mustang.

This post has even less credability than the BON article.. its not from anywhere, just some guy on a Message board.
:nono: It came from BEK355, who works at a Ford dealer, and to my knowledge has always been straight with us.

You don't know BEK, he does not mess around, especially with stuff like this. His post is quite accurate - you shall see. :nono:

Yeah, so how come no other "salespeople" heard the same? I love how something so loosely thrown out immediately takes hold as truth. I plan on starting a cult soon based on 2005 Ford Mustang Launch Delays. Why as a matter of fact, please join Church of The 2005 Mustang Delays!

In the end, it doesn't really matter. People aren't going to get their cars any sooner or later by complaining about it. I know, that stinks - but that's how it goes. Ford can't stand to lose customers due to this sort of deal, and if they do lose customers, Ford is going to be really hurt. One way or another, I'm sure they'll find a way for each and every order to be fulfillled. And if they don't: they're idiots. Pre-sold cars are the dumbest things to mess up on.
I like your edited post, and agree with you totally. I also hope that Ford finds a way to make things right for their customers who have already placed orders.

He didn't say he worked for a dealership nor did you provide any proof what so ever in his initial post, as Of right now the BON article is more credable because at least they listed a supposed source. Until I see proof I stand behind my original assessment.

Btw, my Father is Sales Manager at the local Ford Dealership which I ordered from, would he not have received the same notification?

No offense but I won't be joining your cult anytime soon. It's quite simple. BEK has been out here for quite a while, and is very credible. He has come through with accurate information time after time.

nevermind those bashing your credibility, there's always people who know better than others, of course.

For people who have been reading these forums for a while, he didn't have to. He has already established his credibility here.

Fine, I was trying to give you a friendly warning that you were in danger of making yourself look foolish, and of alienating people by insulting someone who is generally liked here. If you don't want to listen, knock yourself out.

Btw, my Father is Sales Manager at the local Ford Dealership which I ordered from, would he not have received the same notification?
Yes, I assume he would. Have you asked him? stupidgenius36 says his father also works at a dealership, and reported something similar.

Perhaps you have never heard the expression

"Skepticism is the absence of proof"

Until I see proof I remain skeptical.

No insult is intended. I believe what can be proven. As far as alienating people I could care less. The fact remains without proof, this post is worhless.

Ford has notified the dealers that they can only build GTs at 50% of production. Ford has also said the the Interior upgrade package can only be ordered at 35% of production. This means that Ford will build half of all cars as V6s and will force dealers to take them. This will definitely delay the production and delivery of some sold GT orders, as half of all allocation will be V6 regardless of order status.
This will make a GT Mustang even harder to get and is in line with what Ford announced in their initial build plans. There are just too many GT orders.
Here is a snapshot of the report that BEK is referring to. Note the 50% figure next to the GT and IUP entries.

This "commodity hold" effects all GT orders or just ones that have not been scheduled? My understanding is that a under commodity hold vehicles won't be scheduled for production until Ford fixes the supply problem.

So if a vehicle is scheduled does that mean the hold doesn't apply to that vehicle?

Thank you os121 for your help and faith.
heck it's the internet. it's good to be a little skeptical. We did receive an update today changing the IUP to 35% in case you were wondering about the discrepancy.
On a positive note, I believe this is the official first post of the Vert Job 1 date. Did you see it in small print.
I could be wrong.

I figured they would force some V6's we dont have ANY v6's on order And traditionally they make up more then half of the sales.
