It took me a couple weeks to discover that "hidden" cup holder!
Does anyone, other than me, have trouble turning off the exterior lights when the car is unlocked by remote? I did everything the manuel says but they still come on when I use the remote to unlock.

Is it an 07? Because my moms GT/CS '07 does it, but my car (06) does not.

Cool A Safety Feature

Funny Stuff Gang! But actually believe that it is a safety feature for night use. To help you find your Stang in a big dark parking lot. And to light up the interior and the area around the car out in the darkness, said the Ol' Design Engineer! My 2-cents. Have not figured out how to de-program it yet. A nice feature though! CalStang

I haven't found this pop out in my 07 GT/CS. Does it have one and where is it???

Must have worded incorrectly. Open the center console and look around. You'll find the coin holder and what seems to be the wallet holder.

Cool Stores the Koozees

What you are calling the wallet holder under the console lid, is where we store our small drink koozees. Midwestern slang? Used as a slip on thermo cover for your cola cans and or water bottles etc. You know? The ones with your favorite brands printed on them! Availible at any Kwik Stop in America! Anyone else using it for that? What do us it for? CalStang

It took me about 6 months before I realized it was there.

That's where I used to have the DVD-override-switch for my stereo...

So this is a DEEPER cup holder? I can remove the little tray for Taco Bell cups, but are you saying that there is ANOTHER cup holder in there? Must be an 08 thing.

And Luis, that is a nice little spot to hide things too. I have my spare apartment key taped up in there.

Ha, I didn't find mine till I replaced the stereo. I picked up the console and down dropped the insert! Guess I need to put the owners manual in the bathroom, I might actually read it then

I remember reading that the "wallet" holder is actually for tissue paper and Ford use to sell the Mustangs with tissue paper installed from the factory. Guess for the tears of joy when you mash the gas pedal

Moved to the main 05+ forum as this is not specific to the GT/CS model.

I read the manual on how to make the car lock automatically, and I have to know, did it seem similar to entering the code for unlimited lives in the old Contra video game to anyone else?

I had no idea about the insert, and it irritated me whenever I shifted with something in the cup holder. I'm going out tonight to take out that insert.
