Great speakers for 05 to 09 Mustangs?
My front left speaker is going out in my 08 Mustang GT and was wondering if anyone had some really good yet affordable speakers I could look at? Thank you!

Walmart Pioneer 6x8s.

No really. I have them in Awesome and they sound really good. Bolt right in, no issues, just good sounds... for me, I'm not that kind of audiophile. They're readily available at just about any Walmart you can drive to. Or so I keep seeing, anyway...
I got them after the rear glass got somehow blown out by some sort of flying debris (that was a fun day) and the Mach 3 speakers (yes, they cleared out the Mach speakers in the Shaker systems!) in the back just could not be cleaned out of the glass bits, having molded covers on them. Silly design. Oh well. And also the front left one was also rattlin'. So I swapped all four, and I have been a happy camper. They sound brighter in every way from the old Mach 3 speakers, and still do today! And it's been quite the while since I did that, so they seem to last a good while too.
I'd recommend getting these things though:

Just plug those in the current harness and then attach to speakers. No cutting! I hate cutting harnesses when you don't need to...
Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums!

Just hooked up my 08 GT with this head unit and speakers

I got their wiring interface for the head unit, made it plug and play. They gave me the Metra adapters for the speakers free, and yes they save cutting the factory wiring. I have some ignition/alternator noise I have to tame, but I am totally happy with dealing with them. Their CS/support people are awesome, answer questions and know what they are talking about.

There are some old threads on here with discussion around this, I think they might be in the audio section, you should be able to find with the search. I think there are some oddities about how the system is wired that you need to be aware of, which is detailed in those threads.
I think the general consensus was the "Shelby kicker" was one of the best upgrades but I am not sure, the details are in those threads.
And if all else fails, yeah Crutchfield is usually a safe bet; if you talk with them, listen to what they tell you, follow the instructions . . .

I got these as replacements for my front and rears. I liked that the wattage requirements were more in line with a factory amp setup. They've been really nice so far, although I think I got mine a little cheaper on Amazon. I ended up replacing the head unit with a Dynavin N7 Pro.

All the ignition/alternator noise is gone with the help of a ground loop noise supressor wired in to the power wire. I still have the 2 front door speakers to change yet, as I haven't had a full day off in a couple weeks to tear the doors apart.....soon though. I'm happy with the head unit, sounds good and will put out some good sound. As always it's an ongoing state of change.

If you've got an aftermarket HU, you should take a look at infinity, they have some nice speakers below $200

Another vote for crutchfield, they can be a little pricier but you get what you pay for as far as knowledge goes
