Angry Great. I stripped the nut.

Well, I was trying to remove my stock headers, and I stripped one of the nuts connecting the catalytic converter to the header. I just had to express my anger. Does anyone want to buy a set of Mac shorty headers?

A bolt out is a tool that Craftsman makes. Its designed specifically to remove stripped nuts and bolts. You can pick them up at any Sears or Sears Hardware stores.

Yep, and just FYI the K-Marts in our area carry Craftsman tools too.

BEEN THERE.
I do have bolt outs (screw extractors) and a tap and die set.
On some of the old (non-show) cars I've rebuilt I found piece that goes around both ends and pulls them together with some bolts. Sort of like 2 half flanges on each side.

Sorry you didn't research some exhaust notes in my 'How To' section.

Get some penetrating oil (the link in a spray can) and give them a good soaking, then let them sit for a few minutes. Nuts will break pretty easliy after that.

Good luck.

believe me it will work, use something like WD-40 or all-in-one and let it sit for about 5 min then try but not to much torque or you might strip more of the bolt just keep adding more oil till it gives in

This is what I use, PB Penetrating Catalyst. You can find it at AutoZone.

It works like a charm!

I was about to say PB Blaster, too! After working on a 12 year old Jeep Wrangler with rust everywhere (heck, even the vinyl in Jeeps rusts!), I tried all the penetrating oils. PB Blaster worked so much better than the others.

Yeah a 'Bolt Out' ...Craftsman through Sears in Canada (and probably in the US too) great handy tool.
Same with 'Screw Out' (yeah I'm serious)

They are basically sharp sockets the will bit into the side of the bolt and allow you to remove it. Screw out, same thing but for screws if you strip them.

It's been raining all day today, so I didn't have a chance. We even had a tornado here in SC.
