gots to love the tax return!!!
i just emailed brenspeed with a few questions about the C&L CAI tuner package with full intention of buying it. before he gets back to me maybe i could get some answers from the good ol' source. here is what i emailed them:
right now i have a K&N CAI on my 2006 mustang GT. will i see a bigger gain in HP if i swap out the K&N with the C&L street intake. that is ofcorse with the X-CAL 93 octane tune. is this true or would i see the same performance gain with a tuned K&N intake?
also, what would be your suggestion for the right tunes? i know it comes with 3 but im not sure of which ones to choose. i know i want to run 93octane and also have an 89 on there but im not sure what the difference is between a torque tune and performance tune.
any help from you guys would be great. also, when i put the order in im also going for the steeda ultra-lites and the hurst short throw shifter. uncle sam was good to me this year! well actually i was good to him for giving him an interest free loan of my money but whatever......this way it feels like a badass xmas

I don't think the CAI makes much difference, maybe 1-3hp between the brands. I got 91P/91T(in case I was on vacation and there was no 93), and the 93R, which I never even tried the other ones....The 87/89 stuff doesn't do that much other then remapping the throttle and allowing you to use a CAI.
When you put in your Ultralites, get the updated strut tower caps for 08-up models, they're cheap. I got mine done on TSB after I lowered it, but I work at the dealer and they pretty much do whatever without asking. Its also worth getting a K-member brace, they're under 100 bucks(I used Steeda's), and it does tighten things up a bit(all 08's and all 05 up convertibles have one stock). You can look up the info in the GT performance forum, there's tons of info. Ultralites/tower caps/K-member brace are a great bang-for-the-buck suspension upgrade package, and are about all you need for a street car. The Ultralites are great because they don't lower the car enough to knock the geometry out of whack requiring about 20 other pieces to get everything right again, and they ride like stock but really sharpen up the handling.
