got rear ended

it was raining this AM and i made through rush hour only to get rear ended by some lady in a minivan like 5 min from the office...i guess it happens, the big thing is no one was hurt.

sucks b/c my car is about 6 weeks old but i think i'm going to get a gt/cs rear bumper to replace it. anyone have an idea on the cost? i'm going by the stealership tomorrow for an estimate.

Sorry to hear about your 'Stang. Especially when it is only six weeks old!

Ford sells the GT/CS rear bumper as an accessory and the accessory prices are usually cheaper than the price for the replacement part number. The accessory will be cheaper than the regular GT bumper as well. The accessory part number is 6R3Z-6320049-BA and MSRP is $355.00. The accessory part number is a 'kit' and also includes the inner molding or underbody shield you will need to make the conversion.

Sorry to hear that. A 6-week old shouldn't be subjected to this. It
happened to me last week about 5 mins from my office as well. I was stopped at a red-light and an idiot in a GMC Envoy slammed into me. Luckily no one was ahead of me and I was pushed halfway into the intersection. He destroyed my bumper, bridge, and right exhaust (ended up wedged in the rear axle). The amazing thing is my damage is relatively minor compared to his. His car was completely destroyed. The engine was on the ground! It’s a total loss for him. Our Stangs are seriously tough! I guess it helped that I wasn't lowered otherwise he might have ended up in my backseat. I was gonna go with the CS bumper, which is the exact same price, but decided against it. Call me crazy, but I prefer the stock.
