REMOVE THE RETAINING CLIP AND REMOUNT THE TIRE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE SHIMMY. IF NOT THE BALANCE IS MOST LIKELY OFF (OR WORSE CASE SCENARIO TIRE COULD HAVE A BAD BELT) EX-GOODYEAR SALES MGR.

If I remember correctly I was told something about the rims being either hub centric or lug centric and the spacer fixed it. Anyway, my wheel shemmy was gone afterwards. So if none above the above works you check that out.

Not me. Factory fan blades have the recesses for the clips.

1. Yes for Razors you will need a centering ring, this will ensure that the wheel is perfectly center when you tight it down.

2. With OEM wheels you don't nee to remove the clip has they have the recess around the stud to make sure the wheel sits flat on the disk, but with after market you need to take it off otherwise the wheel will be balanced but not sitting flat on the disk.

Well, that eliminates the clips as the cause of my problem since I have fanblades.

Can worn tires cause this?

Since it,s above 50 I say tire balance but while the tires are off take the clip off and remove any build up of rust at the base of the lug?

yes or it could mean you lost a press-on wheel weight.

If you have the time, try swapping tires around the car to see if the shimmy goes away. If it does, then it is a tire balance issue. If it doesn't, it does not rule out a tire balance issue, it could just mean all of your tires are out of balance.

thanks for the input fella's.

i took the wheels off and the clips weren't there, so we can rule out the clips being the problem. I'll see if I can rotate the tires and see if that gets rid of the shimmy.

took me half a day to find out what places have a roadforce balance machine and there was only 4 shops within a 15 mile radius. I will end up taking it for a balance test Tuesday.
