Kathy,

Glad to see it at least made it home. I hope you were able to make some headway with your dealer.

Nope, we didn't make any headway. We'll give the short version so those getting their cars soon will know whats up.

I had two calls yesterday morning from the less than knowledgable sales manager at Extreme Ford in Overland Park, Morgan Johnson. During the first call he lets me know the price of the car has been raised due to the Ford pricing increase. I told him I was aware the price was protected if the order was locked before Job 2 and he says "no". During the second call he is letting me know how lucky we are to have the car because GT's are so hard to come by and we are probably the last car they will get with IUP because Ford can't get that anymore. What an IDIOT.

We get to the dealership about 5:30 and Mr. I Don't Know My --- From a Hole In The Ground Johnson is not there. We meet with General Sales Manager J.R. Hunt. We start going over the numbers and the extra $277 we have to pay. I tell him I spoke with a Ford Employee (thanks Karpro) who checked with his regional rep and was told that it was a fact, if the order was in then the dealership would be refunded the difference in the increase. He told me he had no knowledge of that. I told him I didn't have a problem with the dollar amount, the principal of the matter is what had my temples throbbing. We get the song and dance of how they would hate to have the sale go through if we were unhappy, blah blah blah. Yea, they want their mitts on a certain Screaming Yellow GT. We basically get the "take it or leave it". We left with the car, no way we would leave it after a three month wait.

As we are going through the paperwork we meet the guy who explains the customer survey we are going to get from Ford. Hahaha, can't wait for that to arrive.

In closing, should anyone consider Extreme Ford in Overland Park, Ks to purchase their car I would suggest going elsewhere. This dealership can't get IUP.

Did you look anywhere other than Extreme? I ordered mine at Shawnee Mission Ford, and though they have been nice, I fear their allocation is going to give me problems. I think the best place to go is Bob Allen, but they know they can get you a car quickly, and so they will not budge off of MSRP.

KansasCityTim, Kathy had contacted dealers in Ks, Mo and Ok. Extreme came in the lowest. It's a lesson learned, won't be dealing with them again or sending them any business. We are loyal customers when we are treated right, that didn't happen this time.

And for everyone raggin' on my Dodge, it does come in handy sometimes. This is how our day is going in Topeka.

Take it out in the snow. I would be interested to know how the traction control works in it!

I was on my way to court this morning and called Kathy at work. I said "your car sure gets around good in this stuff". Good thing she couldn't reach through the phone but I think she knows I wouldn't dare get it out in this. Drivers around here stink. The city has already gone to phase 3 for accident reporting so there have been a lot of them already. I'm heading to work in a few minutes so I'll be out there working them now. God, I dread rush hour......

Congrats on the new Mustang and sorry to hear your dealer jerked y'all around! Makes me even more nervous about getting mine. Be careful out there at work with those crazy drivers in the snow.

Congratulations! They probably wanted you to walk so they could put it in the show room and tag on a couple extra thousand. I would have told them about the great review they are going to get on the survey. Hope $277 was worth all the bad press they will get, serves em right! B)
