I went to my dealer to get my price for my 06 GT. He reordered it on 6/29/05
but DORA wasn't processed until 7/13/05. My priority is 12 which I think is
good. I also found out one of the salesperson who works there ordered a 05 GT
after me and got his build day of 8/8 already. I still don't have a build date as of
today. I have been follwing this forum for the last few months now and got alot
of great information and also realized why the American car companies are in so]
much trouble. The mustangs are a mass production car and to have so many people wait months is crazy. I wonder how many mustang customers Ford has lost because of all of this? I know quite a few people would tell me to find a new
dealer but with the order in I don't want to start all over. I guess I'll just take
my chances with this one. One last thing. What happened if you got bumped
from a 05 to a 06 your order would be filled first? From what I'm reading this
isn't happing.

If you got bumped from an 05, its up to the dealer to re-order the car. Which puts you back at the dealer's mercy for priority numbers. Meaning, if you were the only person to get bumped from an 05 at your dealer and he gave you a priorty of 12, then I'm going to bet you that they let this "saleperson's" order go infront of you with a priorty of 10 or 11. Also... the DORA date of 7/13/05.. means that's when they actually did order your car. The DORA gets dated the same day they order. So between the time they told you your 05 wasn't going to happen and 7/13 I bet they ordered at least two 06's before yours. Priority 10 and 11. But, if your dealer gets good allocation each month, your wait shouldn't be long at all.

 

I have 2 friends that ordered in Jan and never got an '05 Mustang. They now have a GTO and 350Z.
