good times/poor ETs...

went to the track - first time this year, fresh 255/45-18 tires, was hoping the extra inch of tread might get me a better 60foot time- the pirellis previous best was 2.17, usually more like 2.25...the 18s got 2.18/2.17/2.14, and the ET was 14.7/14.7/14.4, horrible...best last year was 13.78- I need to learn how to drive, still suprised at the very little gain in traction, really had hoped to be able to launch better, but not with my dumb feet...I think going to 18s was a mistake, sure wish someone made a deepdish 17" torq-thrust looking wheel.

but on the flipside, the wife took hers down the track not once, but three times and said it was fun I thought at best maybe she might go once to say 'I did it', but she really thought it was fun!

She puts up with me, is a Stepmom to one, a Mother of three, a 10 year cancer survivor, a double bypass- pacemaker equipped 36 year old first time dragracer- we're proud of her I drove like crap, couldnt even stage right, not watching the tree, etc, but it was a really good time out there- and our youngest son is now two, and LIKED the loud cars...at the end of her run he said 'mommy GO' as she slowed down
think her car ran about 16.5 @85- not bad for a v6...I recall my first trip to the track, taking my 302-intake-cam-etc 69 mustang out, back in 1983 and running a best of 15.6 after a string of mid-high 16 second runs... first run to first run, think she woulda spanked me - even with a carseat in back

I have always liked couples who can go out and enjoy things together, especially when its a passion to them both. Sounds like your son isn't too far from the tree, either!

What track did you go to? If Thompson then you might want to check your DA as I've gotten over 2000ft of difference in DA there in a handful of visits.

The quality time with your family is more important than the ET time anyway. Bet you can't wait to do it again.
