Got a call today from some jose or juan or someone, from world ford and pembroke pines,"todays my lucky day he said" they got in a 2005 mustang gt, black/red into 5 spd IUP. "this is the last of the IUP's, wont ever be making them, we want 4000 over MSRP and will let it go for 2000 over" I had to tell him, I already got my Torch Red for 3000 under and he had no idea what he was talking about, after that he pretty much hungup on me.

The dealers in my area have had no problem moving them for 5000 above. They weren't even trying to lie about limited quanities or anything they just told me plainly that the charge is there because you have the luxury of being the first to own one. Heck, one dealership even sold The ford GT for more than a hundred thousand above MSRP.

I'm thankful that I am dealing with an honest, straight forward individual with my car. Fantastic price, no pressure to add accessories, etc. Anybody in Ontario who wants to buy an '05 should contact me for details.

I'll buy it ONLY if I can get 2, that will have sequential VINs, that way, in 40 years from now, when there were about 4 billion of this body style produced 3 billion of which will have IUP, I will be able to tell my grand kids I got ripped a new one. It will be am important lesson that I can pass on to them.

I think it's kinda weird they wanted $4000 over for IUP b/c I went to a ford dealership today and they one GT on the lot. It stickered for 28000 and had IUP, but on the side was another sticker and it said "limited production" $4000 so they price was 32k. I got to wondering what Limited Production meant, b/c it was just a regular GT. Not to start another IUP discussion and I take what this site says as absolute truth (about IUP being built and fine) but isn't it kinda weird that both of those dealers (in seperate states) wanted 4k over just b/c it had IUP (if the IUP was the "limited production")?!?! Again, I just thought this was weird, I'm not trying to start an IUP scare or anthing

Uh, it's not that they don't know...it's that they hope WE don't know. Trying to create demand for something where little or none exists is a common marketing tactic.

That's exactly it. They know. What makes them stupid is that they don't realize it's not 1982 anymore. People have computers and the internet and they can find these things out for themselves. This is a big continent. There are plently of places that don't sell above msrp. I wish I could stop at that dealer so they could lay down their sales pitch on that car so I could laugh in their face.

You must be in Clairmont Mesa. It was a silver Ford GT. It looked nice! People down here have more money than brains, I think. How else could this real estate bubble be persisting so long? I feel like I'm living in fantasy land down here when I hear about 2bd/2bth condos. with a great view of the I-5 freeway are starting at $475k.

what is this "honest dealer" some of you speak of? in all my deaer finding explorations i've only found one that had no markup, it was...uh...frontier ford i think.....

ahh who cares, cnat even afford the discounted 05s :P

i hate markup. this one guy yest was showing us a MG 05 GT and he said stupid things like "this new body looks like the old Mark 1s. Very good deal." i didnt even tell him it wsa "mach 1" and that theres no more resemblance to the machs than any other classics anyway (IMO i suppose). i think the only reason my dad even talked with him was cuz he's indian yet another sample of proof that i know more about the 05 stang than most of the dealers. so far i havent found one dealer/salesperson that knows more ab out the car than i do

you know you stink when a 15 year old kid who cant even afford the car knows more about it than you :P

EDIT: forgot to add, that MG GT hat AT adn shaker as the only option and they had $5000 markup on it
