Going Into The Shop

Well, as I'm responding to a working 2 alarm house fire in my town, I'm driving no more than a mile down the road to the firehouse and the check engine light comes on. I thought maybe it came on because of the bitter cold, but it wasn't, I brought it in my garage and put a space heater in the garage to keep the garage warm, left it in their over night, woke up the next morning, started the car, kept it running for a while, still no luck, its still on. Got an apt 2morrow to have it looked at.
I also will be bringing in my car again next week for my arrival of my new radio so I can get to listen to my CD's play again
I also looked at another persons forum about heated seats, i forget who that is, but if that person is reading this, how did u get the heater in the seats and what was the part number the ford dealer gave you??

My stang survived -32 degree (without wind) drive for an hour across open fields, after being started in a freezing garage. Trust me you car should handle the temps...I don't think thats the problem.
Mind you the brakes started to feel funny as did the stearing... but it ran

Ya mine has been running fine in -30 degree temps (not to rub it in) and I have heard others say the check engine light showed up on their cars as well but I'm not sure why.
Good luck and let us know what ends up being the problem

I have seen three reasons that people, including myself, have had their check engine light come on. On my car the gas tank was replaced due to a clogged vent.
Another person had a issue with the engine misfiring due to a quick deceleration. Ford has a new flash for the chip to deal with this.
The other posting I saw the person had a bad intake manifold. The dealer replaced this and the issue went away.

Heated Seat Thread
That was me. I did not get a part number. If you want, you can call the guy at Tom Clark Ford. His name is Tony and he works in the aftermarket department. His phone number at the Ford lot is (724) 834-6820. He also works at the Chevy lot, but I don't have that number. If you leave a message, he will get back to you.

If I remember Correctly The Problem with the Check Engine Light has something to do with the Software in the Computer. Ford is Aware of it and either has a Fix or is Workiing o a Fix. Something about having to Re-Flash the Computer I think.

****SHE'S FIXED****
Turned out to be the same problem as everyone,
It was a cylinder misfire during deceleration, i was askin the guy before he even told me and he was like, how the heck did u know that? and I told him, I know some people who were having the same problems.
So the computer was updated with the lastest from Ford and the car is ready, so I'm on my way not to pick her up

One of the techs posted a few days ago that he updated a GT that wasn't even sold yet? I'd definately check again.
