Great illustration as to how useless the Global Window feature really is...

It's great for hot days when you want to let the heat escape from the car before you get in.

Ya, not sure why you wouldn't just hit the unlock twice on the remote. Oh well. Anyway, I use the feature almost everyday. Sure is nice to walk up to the car and already have the blistering heat out of it. Also, makes it a lot easier to roll the windows up if it starts to rain. Sure beats getting in the car, turning the key to AUX and then rolling them up.

While it doesn't come standard on the 07' you can have it activated at your dealership (if they are nice) I did and I love it.

I thought that it came disabled from the factory on all 05s+? So all you have to do is go to the dealership and ask the service department that you want this feature activated??

Apparently some don't want to as some owners have come out to find that thier windows were down and had no idea how it happened , so there may have been a liability issue or something.

I have a very late year 05, and it was disabled permanently at the factory. No dealership has been able to reactivate it, and they called "some engineer" who told them it was forever disabled. The directions for it's use are in my owner's manual, and it can be activated with the dealerships computer, but it still doesn't work even though it says it's activated. There is some module or hardware somewhere, maybe even just a wire, that is missing.

I thought you had an '06. Anyway, this is the first I've heard of an '07 being activated.

I gave up on it about two years ago after taking it to three dealerships and got the same lame excuse: "They disconnected it permanently".

Let me clarify, they do deactivate it at the factory but it is still a feature that can be unlocked. Its not permantly locked out. yes I had an 06 and traded in for an 07 california special. My friend has an 05, his sister an 06 and I have the 07 and we all have the global window feature activated. We are in Texas if that helps any. The dealerships can do it but like I said you have to have a nice one. Don't bother asking engineers to do it they most likely will not do it or act like it exists, but it does.

I'll post your information in the other thread:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=19105

Build dates would be very helpful since there was a period of time when it couldn't be re-activated.
