You CAN get inexpensive GOOD insurance. Progressive usually crushes Geico's prices, and they have outstanding customer service.
I am not trying to get in an argument about insurance companies, but on the Progressive commercials, they always show the results of how they compare to ther companies. I have never seen them compare to Geico. I have had Geico since 1990 and never had a problem.

Back to Topic, why does DraftHorsePower's insurance company have to pay for the accident? Isn't it the other guys fault? If that is the case, I think DraftHorsePower and his insurance company should only have to beat up the other guy's insurance company for some money.

Depends on your state, some states have a no-fault policy, basically meaning, regardless who caused the accident, your insurance company pays for the damages of your car and the other persons insurance pays for the damages of the other persons car.

what i think happens.... is my insurance company settles on the car, and will then go after the guys insurance company to get their money back. They also pay my medical, and then go after the other guy for reimbursement.

Because i am injured, the at-fault insurance company is also then required by law to provide me with a settlement.

The picture of the truck on the rear of the yellow Mustang was photo shopped. That is not an actual shot of the truck that hit the car, if I recall correctly.

That picture was taken by a camera phone at the scene of the accident and was not photo shopped.

Sorry about your ride, that must have hurt. glad your alright. You may want to check out Wawanesa if you have a good record. I pay $1500 a year for full coverage with 300 deductable all in mid level claim for 4 cars

1991 Toyota Highlander V6
1998 Volvo S70
1990 5.0 V8 Mustang HB
2005 V6 Mustang

And the 90 GT is the most expensive out of all of at $460 a year.

I had Geico years ago. I made a claim for one claim, (my fault) a front fender and a grill on a pickup. They paid the claim and promptly dropped me.

I have had Allied for years and they are reasonable. They are only charging me $800 per year for the new Mustang GT Vert.

Are you suing?
I'm not one of those people who are for suing for any old thing....

But...

That truck is so high.... I bet it's not legal.

i don't think it is legal. Idaho state law states bumper height on 4wd vehicles must be like 54" or lower from the bottom of the bumper
By looking at that picture, it looks like the ride height is legal, it doesn't look like the bottom of the bumper is more than 4 and half feet off the ground, thats pretty high.

Edit: Actually, I know its legal, the height of the Mustang is 54", and its well below the roofline.
[/b][/quote]

That is just utterly ridiculous. The ride height law needs to be lowered, considerably, to where a car's bumper is able to hit another car's bumper. Why place a bumper on a car if it's gonna get hit in its rear window?

uhhhhh yeah, i'm going to have to like 15th that fact that it IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED, since thats MY car, and i was THERE (duh) and my friend chris took that picture on his camera phone, still has it on there.

why is it that anything dramatic nowadays is labeled as a photo-chop??

Montrose.....were you there to see the accident? If not, don't pass judgement on the photo.

Can you imagine that bumper hitting your head in a T-bone. You would be toast even if they were only going 20mph.

I have kept Nationwide around for years, Adore them.
Zero Deductibles, and they have always treated me right.

Always been scared of insurance companies without offices.

Emilee- good luck, I hope you fry the jerk who totaled your baby.
